This JW Anderson X Converse Drop Is Simply A Must-Have

JW Anderson left us hanging since its announcement of its Converse collaboration in June last year. The brand had only released snapshots of the shoes for SS18 but nothing had followed until the release of the Glitter_Gutter pack in December 2017. The British fashion brand also launched its collaboration with Uniqlo at the turn of the new year which grabbed all our attention and the Converse collaboration was left at the back of our minds.
However, campaign images of the new pack with Converse were just released and we’re kinda glad that we forgot about it for a while because we feel like children on Christmas morning! The collection, called Simply_Complex, features new interpretations on the Thunderbolt and Chuck Taylor 70 silhouettes, constructing the footwear as statement pieces.

With the intention to blur the line between streetwear and high fashion, the collaboration focuses on textures and materials of the shoe for a shoe that can be paired with a T-shirt and chinos or dressed up with a pantsuit.
The Thunderbolt comes in two asymmetrical versions: a brown/beige colourway in suede with goat leather lining and a denim version that is made of 3 different raw indigo denims which means that it will evolve the more it is worn. We prefer our Converse more worn because it gives it a bit of character so we think this denim version will be a perfect fit for our shoe collection.

The Chuck Taylor 70s, which were inspired by traditional brown menswear shoes, come in the same light dusty brown colour palette as the suede Thunderbolts. Opt for the classic hi-tops or go the extra mile with an extended hi-top for a street look that is fit for the runway. The shoes are also lined with leather inners for a comfortable fit. Stylish and comfy: who can resist?

The good news: we don’t have to wait long for this Simply_Complex collection! The pack drops tomorrow on converse.com, j-w-anderson.com, JW Anderson stores and select retailers globally. We’re hoping that we will be able to cop these shoes so that we can add them to our shoe collection!
