We all know that fairytales weren’t always meant to have a happy ending. We’re familiar with the originally twisted stories by writers like the Grimm Brothers and Hans Christian Andersen, so it’s interesting to know that something so dark has become something magical for kids. Well, Disney is taking these fairytales back to its twisted roots with its latest collaboration with Coach. The pre-fall collection weaves disfigured motifs from Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs and Sleeping Beauty, creating a dark gothic collection with a retro and rock and roll vibe.
The collection includes both womenswear and menswear, featuring bold colour palettes and rebellious fonts for an edgy vibe. From moto jackets and sweaters to bags and shoes, we can definitely picture tough bikers and fierce streetwear lovers dressed in this collection.

The designs and graphics are not what come to mind when we think of Disney or fairytales but the collection is a winner for us. It could be the edgy street look or perhaps it’s because we’ve grown older and the reimagined disfigured motifs appeal to our matured side now. If you’d like to check out the whole collection, Coach is having a Disney x Coach: A Dark Fairy Tale pop-up at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, from 16 – 31 May.
Disney X Coach: A Dark Fairy Tale collection will be available at all local Coach stores, from 18 May.
