Nature Republic’s Aloe Vera Soothing Gel Is A Skin Saver

A couple of weeks back, I had just returned from a trip to Seoul and had brought back with me a whole haul of cosmetic products because one, I’m a K-beauty enthusiast (more like *cough addict), and two, the products are a whole lot cheaper and more worth it there – I mean, they sell them in bulk! And with all the new products that I couldn’t wait to try, I was completely stumped when I woke up a few days after getting back with tiny red bumps all over my forehead, cheeks and nose. And of all days, on my first day of work. I was horrified that morning because my skin had been so good in Korea – clear and smooth. But then my skin just went haywire and I was desperate to get my skin back to a decent condition.

Thankfully, I had gotten a tub of Nature Republic’s Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel from my Korea trip because this product was literally a skin saver. I cut out all my other post-cleansing skin care products except for Innisfree’s Green Tea Seed Serum (since it has never broken me out) and this aloe vera gel. It took me just 2-3 days for my skin to lose the redness and for the bumps to settle down, which in my case, is a record. I had also been applying the gel to my arms and legs where I had really dry and itchy skin from being overseas, and now the scaly, bumpy patches are gone!

Aloe Vera is a widely-used ingredient in our food and beverages as well as our cosmetics. It’s known to be a medicinal herb that has benefits such as boosting immunity, aiding digestion, and is anti-inflammatory, which is what makes it good for sunburns and reducing acne.

Nature Republic’s Aloe Vera Soothing Gel has 92% aloe vera leaf extract and is well-known as one of the brand’s best selling items – and I can definitely see why after trying it myself. The brand’s classic  tub packaging also comes in a tube form as well, which adds to our convenience when dispensing the product! On top of that, they recently also released a similar version of the product but instead of aloe, it contains cactus extracts. It basically performs the same way as the original aloe gel, as cactus extract also helps to calm inflammations and provides even more hydration to the skin due to its water-retaining capabilities.

The best part about it is that it’s really affordable at KRW 4,400, or roughly SGD 6, for 300ml so you don’t have to hold back when it comes to slathering. You can incorporate this into your skin care routine any time after cleansing and toning, but I usually use it right at the end since it can be slightly sticky after application (it’ll dry to a smooth finish though, so don’t worry). Additionally, it can also be applied in a thick layer as a rinse-off mask. All in all, this product is great for any redness/acne that you might have and is a must-have treatment for stressed-out skin!

The Nature Republic Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera Soothing Gel is available online on Althea or Lotte Duty Free.
