‘Dad Shoes’ Forever — PUMA Releases The Thunder Electric Women’s

For those who don’t already know, ‘Dad Shoes’ are one of the latest fashion trends. Chunky bodies, massive soles and thick uppers are the features that ‘dad shoes’ have. And no, they are not only for dads.

Following the release of the Thunder Electric Men’s, PUMA announces the drop of the women’s edition. As part of paying homage to past collabs, the Thunder Electric Women shoes are inspired by 90s Cell System running sneakers and the PUMA x McQueen collaboration.

The Thunder Electric women’s edition feature a familiar hefty silhouette, decked in nubuck leather and mesh overlays. Unlike the men’s, which come in darker shades and white speckles, the women’s has a softer colour palette.

The aesthetically pleasing aspect of this shoe is the PUMA side stripe that comes in two different colours: Glossy lavender or metallic grey. Both builds feature a shiny blue heel, to ‘reflect the electrifying power of lightning’. There is also an integrated lacing system for a snug fit.

This shoe stands out in the crowd due to its loud colour-blocking and material mixes. Indeed, an unconventional beauty.

So…cop or drop?

Retailing at $209, the PUMA Thunder Electric Women’s will be available at AW Lab, PUMA MBS Select Store, The Social Foot, Leftfoot and Limited Edt from 26 July onwards
