Everyone’s Adding Vietnam To Their Bucket List Because Of These Giant Hands

Feel like you’re at the edge of the world, with only endless mountainous views in sight as a pair of giant hands rise up from the hills to prop up a golden bridge.

Cau Vang (which translates to Golden Bridge) has just recently opened in Da Nang, just above the Thien Thai gardens at the Bà Nà Hills Resort. The giant weathered hands make it look like it was built centuries ago, with only the gleaming bridge giving away its identity.

Even though the bridge only opened  a few months ago in June, tourists have flocked to it to snap Instagrammable-worthy photos. It’s also become a prime spot for wedding and engagement photos because of the breathtaking views, especially around sunset. It’s like a whole other world from the busy, motorcycled-filled streets of Ho Chi Minh city.

And the Golden Bridge is just one of the many attractions at Sun World Ba Na Hills, a resort hidden amongst the mountains in Da Nang. There’s also a cable car, alpine coaster, a 27m tall buddha and wax museum, with plenty of flower gardens and medieval buildings that are perfect backdrops for wedding shoots and Instagram shots.

There is also a resort on the hills – Mercure Danang French Village – that makes you feel like you just woke up in a 19th century European Village. Stay in antique-styled hotel rooms and dine on both authentic Vietnamese food and traditional French cuisine. If you’re wondering why French cuisine in particular; the resort was established by French colonists in 1919, but today only a few ruins remain, which have been turned into a hotel.
