R.I.P 2010-2018: Urban Decay Naked Palette

Get your waterproof mascaras and tissues ready, ladies. 2018 has been an insane year filled with many ups and downs. Today, we have another piece of sad news that shook the makeup industry. Urban Decay has decided to discontinue the OG cult-favourite and best-selling Naked Eyeshadow Palette. That’s right, pay your final respects; the game-changing Naked Palette, which was launched with insanely high praises back in 2010, is leaving our mortal shelves for good.

Urban Decay Naked Palette, $83

The palette features 12 shadows, ranging from a delicate champagne to a gritty silver, which include neutral tones in matte and shimmer finishes. Thankfully, the cousins of the OG, which includes Naked2, Naked3, Naked Basics and Naked Heat, are not (yet) joining our dearly departed.

“Saying goodbye to NAKED is extremely bittersweet,” says Zomnir, founding partner of Urban Decay. “It was a big moment in our history. It’s a little painful to leave your past behind, but it’s also essential to always evolve. I will forever miss NAKED, but we plan to turn the grief into even more greatness. Urban Decay will continue to thrive in NAKED’s memory and honor — just wait and see.”

To this very day, over 30 million NAKED Palettes have been sold and Urban Decay remains one of the top eyeshadow brands in the world. Let’s all gather together by Urban Decay and Sephora Stores during this mourning week in your black outfits to get the last of these palettes while we still can.

The era of the original Naked palette might be ending, but like a wise man once said “Every ending calls for a new beginning”. We shall keep ours eyes peeled for what Urban Decay has in store for us in the near future.

The funeral is being held today in Newport Beach, CA in a nude-colored field with badasses and beauty influencers alike. Kandee Johnson, Christen Dominique, Katy DeGroot, Shayla Mitchell & Chrisspy will all be in attendance, with a eulogy by Nicole Richie.

Though this parting is bittersweet, you’ll still be able to get your hands on the
Urban Decay Naked palette anywhere UD is sold, while supplies last.

In Singapore, it’s available at all Sephora stores, online at @Sephorasg and @lazada_sg and at our Urban Decay freestanding stores at Bugis Junction, Ngee Ann City and VivoCity. #UDSingapore #UDNaked #sephorasg #UDxLAZADASG #UrbanDecay
