Disney Princesses Get A Fashion Runway Makeover In Disney’s Latest Designer Collection

When you start buying dolls for display instead of taking them out to display, that’s when you know that you’re officially an adult. We’re guilty of queueing for hours just for some Hello Kitty dolls, and we’re ready to do the same for these Disney princess dolls.

In their latest Designer Collection, Disney dresses up 6 Disney princesses in iconic outfits and accessories taken from various points of time in fashion history. All the dolls also come in a collectible box, featuring the name of the Disney film that the princess stars and in year of when the Disney film was released.

From 6 October, a new doll will be released every Saturday until 10 November at 12am PST (which is 3pm SGT on Sunday since we’re 16 hours ahead just in case you’re interested in camping out for one online). Each doll retails at US$109.95 (SGD$151) online and through an in-store Disney lottery.

Here’s a closer look at the dolls, and only around 4,000 dolls of each princess will be produced.

SNOW WHITE – 6 October

Snow White takes a leaf out of Hollywood’s red carpet fashion with a satin cream and red gown, complete with a removable fur coat. The dress also features those iconic bell sleeves but with red accents, and Snow White’s classic red cape has been replaced with a trailing giant red sash.

CINDERELLA – 13 October

Cinderella gets an upgrade in a poofy dress that’s fit for royalty even today. With pearl necklaces and black gloves, Cinderella has certainly come a long way from her attic days.

JASMINE – 20 October

Jasmine keeps her turquoise pantsuit, which has been blinged up with Oriental-inspired accents and a matching chunky necklace and belt set. The only thing that has mysteriously disappeared is her gemstone headpiece.

ARIEL

Ariel’s enjoying life on two legs, probably because she can get to play with a bigger wardrobe instead of just choosing what colour shells she would like to wear today. Sticking in line with the purple and green theme, Ariel gets a bright and colourful skirt, layered with black chiffon. Her clutch also comes shaped like a seashell as a tribute to her underwater family.

TIANA

Tiana gets a tailored blazer with silver trimmings and a tutu-like skirt embroidered with flowers. There’s a slight nod to the frog, with the giant green flower sitting on Tiana’s shoulder. They really thought of everything!

BELLE

Belle’s yellow off-the-shoulder gown is an iconic dress when it comes to Disney princesses looks. The pale yellow dress incorporates the rose, another important motif in the movie, into the dress’ print. Yellow roses also appear on Belle’s waist and in the shape of her clutch.

Also part of the Designer Collection, Disney has teamed up with Colourpop for a magical makeup collection inspired by the same 6 princesses.
