MUJI’s Latest Flannel Collection Features The Softest Organic Cotton

With so many basic clothing pieces in the market, we tend to be spoilt for choice. It’s hard to find quality goods that are easy to match with our everyday style, but that’s precisely when MUJI comes to the rescue – think comfortable textiles and versatile designs at affordable prices!

Walk into a MUJI store and its minimalistic interior will make everything else stand out. But check out the racks and you will know that MUJI isn’t just about its furniture.

This year, MUJI has considered every aspect carefully, before presenting us with their AW18 Flannel Garment Series. With the whole world going green, MUJI has taken a step ahead and selected the finest raw materials for their products. We can’t help falling in love with how soft they feel!

Made from organic handpicked cotton from Xinjiang, the fabrics are pre-washed for a soft and warm texture. We know that it’s Summer all year round in Singapore, but trust us when we say that the shirts are loose enough to not stick to our sweaty backs!

LADIES’ FLANNEL

Stock up on your white button-downs with the Flannel Shirt ($33), as you can never have too many basic clothing items. They are the best kind of investments as the material is so breathable, you will be back for more.

Not forgetting the Flannel Check Shirts ($33) something that you definitely can’t go wrong with! We love that MUJI’s wardrobe staples are all neutral-toned. Not to mention, they’ll make you look like Song Hye Kyo in the popular Korean drama, Descendants of the Sun.

For the more adventurous, go for the Flannel Tunic ($49) or Flannel Pullover Dress ($59), and pair them with bright colours.

Unlike the usual billowy maxi dresses, the Flannel Check Dress ($59) has an A-line cut, and is truly a stylish piece.

MEN’S FLANNEL

There are plenty of brands selling similar-looking shirts, but what makes MUJI stand out from the rest is the fact that their cloth is made with thick cotton thread.

A wedding lunch coming up? Or a business presentation? Get a Flannel Button Down Shirt ($39) for more formal occasions.

Or rep a mandarin collar with the Flannel Stand Collar Shirt ($39).

The men have their Flannel Check Shirts ($39) as well, that come in various colours: navy, rose, dark green, burgundy, just to name a few! Button up for date night or wear it as an outerwear for that cool skater boy look.

KIDS’ & BABY FLANNEL

One thing we love more than kids’ clothes are kids’ clothes that match with the adults! Just look at how adorable they are…

The Flannel Shirt ($39) comes in 6 colours and is so easy to match with anything. And if baby fever hasn’t hit you yet, these tiny newborn clothes might change your mind!

FLANNEL PAJAMAS

Gone are the days that we would wear traditional pyjamas (jacket and pants) to sleep. Nowadays, people opt to sleep in a t-shirt and shorts.

However, MUJI is bringing back the jammies, and in a fashionable way too. Snuggle up in a comfy set of pretty pastels, made from organic cotton. MUJI even went all out to print their label on the fabric to prevent discomfort at the neckline. Sweet dreams!

FLANNEL BEDLINEN

Flannel Bedlinen: Pillow Case/Fitted Sheet/Duvet Cover ($13-$99)

Another important area that affects our daily sleep is the bedlinen that we lie on. Made from 100% organic cotton flannel, the duvet cover is finely brushed for a softness that feels great on the skin. More reasons to stay in bed all day!

HOME & LIVING

Have you always wanted to live in MUJI? Decorate your house with these items and you’re step closer to achieving that dream. Walk on clouds with the Linen Twill Cushioned Slipper ($17.90), fitted with insoles that supports the arch of the foot. We also love how the Aroma Diffuser ($139) works without heat, allowing you to enjoy only the pure, original aroma of the essential oil.
