October Sneaker Roundup: Hype Sneaker Collabs And Stylish Kicks That We’re Eyeing

This month is full of some pretty high profile collaborations in the sneaker world, while adidas takes a dive into the past. We couldn’t wait till November to share all our latest finds, so here we are with a mid-month sneaker roundup. Whether you’re looking for your next sneaker to cop for your collection or to update your shoe wardrobe, here’s all the hottest collabs and drops that we’re eyeing.

Converse x Off-White

Virgil Abloh has partnered up with Converse for the second Off-White collaboration that has got us super excited – a stark white canvas Chuck 70 with orange and black accents. The striking shoe takes on a more traditional interpretation of the classic Chuck 70 silhouette this time (no more translucent uppers!) and sees Off White’s stripes make its way onto the midsoles.

Not to forget the iconic zip tie tag in bright orange featuring both brands names, with matching orange soles for a vibrant pop of colour. Virgil Abloh even pays attention to all the little details like trademark labelling on the shoelaces, the Off White symbol on the inner sole and cute little orange tags on the signature Converse All Star Logo patch on the side of the shoe. Definitely a cop if you’re a huge fan of the designer.

$209.90. The shoe is currently sold out online, although you might still be able to get it Dover Street Market Singapore and Limited Edt Vault.

Puma Paul Stanley Suede Classic

Paul Stanley Suede Classic Sneakers White

It’s only fitting that the frontman of KISS, with his wild makeup and crazy hair, to sport equally loud fashion. Which is why we’re not surprised when Puma announced two fashionably over-the-top sneakers from their collab with rocker Paul Stanley. Inspired by the legendary KISS album, “Animalize”, the shoes feature animal prints and tons of leather and metallic accents.

The first shoe is covered in a zebra print, with leather formstrips running along the sides. The heel and tongue has red leather accents , with glittery brand logos. And even though they call the shoe white, the sole is actually an off-white colour.

Paul Stanley Suede Classic Sneakers Black

The other black version of the shoe features the same zebra-printed tongue, but has furry leopard print along the sides of the shoe with the same black leather formstripe. The jet black jagged sole gives the shoe a more rebellious edge. The unisex shoe will look great on both girls and guys, if you’re into the whole rocker punk look.

Puma x The Weekend

Puma’s also dropping an XO Collection that’s all about 90s streetwear, brimming full of colourblocking and graphics. But the one piece that’s calling out to us is the Puma XO Terrain, designed by Abel Tesfaye. Just in case you were wondering who that is, he also goes by The Weeknd when he’s on stage.

A chunky yet sleek sneaker in jet black, with exaggerated teeth in the midfoot. The uppers are covered in a mix of suede and leather for a touch of luxury. And you can get it in time for his upcoming concert at the end of the year!

$210, now available at CK TANG and PUMA Select MBS.

adidas Never Made

Left to right: MICROPACERxR1, BOSTONSUPERxR1, RISINGSTARxR1

While we’re on the trend of reviving past trends and classics, we might as well take a whole bunch of classics and play around with them to create new shoes! And who knows, they might even turn out to be a hit. That’s what adidas did with heir Never Made collection: they took all their design ideas from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, and mixed them all up to reinvent their classic silhouettes.

Left to right: Ix4D, MARATHONx5923,, COUNTRYxKAMANDA

If you’re a fan of NMDs, you’ll be pleased to find out that there are three new silhouettes adapted from the NDM_R1 tooling, which resulted in the MICROPACERxR1, BOSTONSUPERxR1, and RISINGSTARxR1. There’s also a chunky shoe for basketballers that boasts a segmented sole for greater flexibility, and the classic Marathon shoe gets an upgrade with a Boost sole.

Vans Cult

If something is working fine, then don’t stop. Which is why Vans and CULT are back for their 4th collab for a capsule collection. The Sk8-Hi Pro is dressed in Duracap-reinforced suede and canvas uppers, with a reflective Sidestripe to keep it flashy. Throw in the quirky CULT illustrations all over the inners soles and the sides of the shoe, and you’ve got yourself a super stylish pair of kicks that can weather the maximum performance needs of BMXers.

The full capsule collection also includes a matching long and short sleeve white tee, and a black snapback, all featuring CULT’s signature illustrations.

24 Kilates x ASICSTIGER GEL-LYTE III

This pair of shoes from ASICSTIGER nad 24 Kilates pays homage to the railways that connects Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. The tonal brown, vampy green and yellow shoe is supposed to mimic the interior of a luxurious train cabin – but we find that it reminded us more of the forest-y terrains that you’ll see zooming by when you’re staring out the window. The half tongue is branded with both logos, with gold accents on the tip of the shoelaces and the GEL LYTE III name embroidered in gold on the side. We’ll call this one… the wanderlust shoes. After all, the high-quality suede, leather and nubuck in the uppers will keep those weary feet protected from rugged conditions!

Now available at ASICSTIGER stores.
