Moschino’s Iconic Teddy Bear Lands On The Bottom of Their Shoes

Moschino’s newest collection “Teddy Shoes” is not for the faint-hearted… or is it? Fashion’s most irreverent designer, Jeremy Scott, never fails to surprise and has once again created bold gear with something as cute as their brand’s mascot. Beyond just plush perfume bottles, phone covers and bags, Moschino’s iconic teddy bear now finds its way to, well, the bottom of your shoe. Not the most glamorous spot, we must say. Seriously, no one quite notices designs on the bottom of shoes (if there even is one), however, we’ll make a case for this: Moschino’s new “Teddy Shoes” sneakers are difficult to miss, and a must-have for those with a sense of humour.

The sneakers incorporate athleisure style with the playful spirit of the brand’s mascot, and come in two designs: an adjustable hook or lace-up version. Both designs are accompanied by an innovative rubber sole that transforms the teddy bear shape into an oversized 3D sole.

Despite its peculiar design, the collection still remains easy to style while still making a statement.  Being the centrepiece of the shoes’ design, the teddy bear sole may cause a bit of a heartache to wear out and get dirty — but fret not, the natural wear of the white sole will further emphasise the smiling expression of the iconic Teddy Bear, accompanied by the phrase, “THIS IS NOT A MOSCHINO TOY”.

If the Teddy Bear sole doesn’t stand out enough for you, the gold or silver glitter fabric will surely make heads turn. Trimmed with tonal piping, the grosgrain strap screams Moschino! Hook-and-loop fasteners on the shoes also provide greater convenience when wearing them on. If glitter isn’t up your alley, you can also opt for the plain black fabric.

With leather, suede and mesh combined, the unisex version stands out for its combination of different materials. Its contrasting black and white lace complements the shoe while still remaining an easy piece to style with its monochromatic colours.
