The Return Of The Samurai Burger (Again) And An All-New Savoury Pie!

About a year ago, I was writing about McDonald’s bringing back the Samurai Burger, and here I am again to tell you that the burger is making yet another return. The Samurai Burger comes back so often they should just permanently put in on the menu, seriously.

But you don’t have to wait too long because the Samurai Burger, together with a couple of other items, will be available at McDonald’s tomorrow (4 Oct)! Choose between juicy beef or chicken patties marinated in that deliciously sweet-savoury teriyaki sauce, paired with crisp lettuce and mayonnaise. The Samurai burgers are $6.10 if you get it ala-carte, and $8.80 as a meal set with shaker fries and green tea.

Another reason why we’re so excited about the return of the Samurai Burger because it means our favourite shaker fries will be returning too! Instead of the usual Seaweed Shaker Fries, the Roasted Sesame version will be making a return after its successful debut last year. It’s still pretty addictive, and the roasted sesame gives it the fries a nuttier flavoure te.

Making a return is yet another favourite – the Dinosaur McFlurry. The ice cream is pretty much our local rendition of the iconic Oreo McFlurry, but with a heap of powdery milo powder and crunchy rice pops.

Instead of another dessert pie, McDonald’s is launching one of their rare savoury pies –  the Creamy Herb Chicken Pie. Instead of their usual crusty shell, the chicken pie is encased in a flakier spiral crust, stuffed with a creamy mix of potatoes, onions, mushrooms and carrots. While the pie doesn’t really strike us as much of a treat to end a meal, it definitely makes a good mid-day snack. The pie comes in the same elongated rectangular shape as all McDonald’s pies which is super convenient to eat on the go as compared to other pot pies, and costs $1.80.
