Could Lip Tints Be The New Frontier In Makeup For Lips?

Pucker up, ladies! Lipsticks and lip glosses can be quite a hassle to deal with especially when you can’t find the right formula for your lips. Some may be a little too dry and others… well, they smudge really easily. But truth be told, lip tints have been around for quite some time, and you might be wondering what’s the new hype about it.

Reformulated with stronger pigments (we’re talking about some serious stay-on-power btw), these lip tints that first originated from none other than the land of K-Beauty, South Korea, have made an epic comeback – bringing on some serious lip game to the table. With cult beauty brands such as Laneige to crowd favourites like Mamonde, there’s simply one too many to choose from. If you’re not familiar with how these new lippies faired, well you’re in luck because we’re breaking down the latest lip tints to hit the scene.

Laneige Lip Tattoo Tint in Rose Prism

Laneige Lip Tattoo Tint in Rose Prism, $32

The Laneige Lip Tattoo Tint is pigmented enough to rival lipsticks, with “Rose Prism” being the ideal bold red lip shade. This newly formulated lip tint comes with an angular duvet that allows precise application and is soft to the tip as it glides effortlessly onto your lips with a semi-matte and airy finish.

As the name suggests, the Laneige Lip Tattoo Tint is also known for its superb long-lasting power that it has on the lips! You can also wear it as you please as it comes with a buildable formula – be it a gradient lip or really go at it for a full-on lip.

Quick and easy to slick on, the Nakeup Face One Day Water Volume Lip Ink leaves behind a juicy and hydrated shine to your lips. Unlike the few lip tints mentioned in this article, the Water Volume Lip Ink is one that’s skewed towards a more sheer and glossier finish in comparison to the others.

Mamonde Highlight Lip Tint Velvet in 07

Mamonde Highlight Lip Tint Velvet in 07

What we love the most about this lip tint is the fact that it stays on (almost) forever! The Mamonde Highlight Lip Tint Velvet comes with more of a matte than glossy finish and it’s really lightweight on your lips so you won’t feel like you’re wearing anything on it. It’s easily one of my favourite options to switch to when I don’t have a lipstick with me.

PS. Just a word of caution, if you’re planning to remove this off the back of your hand or even your lips, we suggest you get a few makeup remover towelettes just in case. We weren’t kidding when we said it has strong staying power!

Mamonde Highlight Lip Tint Velvet in 07 ($18) is available at TANGS outlets.
