As 2018 draws to a close and you’re wondering how to spend the last few moments, we’re here to guide you to the right place. And if you come to realisation that you haven’t been heading out enough this, it’s time to get out of the house and welcome the New Year from somewhere other than your bed. Treat yourself to a delightful meal,  party it up at a themed rave, or just grab a buddy to admire the massive fireworks display over at Marina Bay that won’t disappoint.

STAR ISLAND SINGAPORE COUNTDOWN EDITION

It’s a no-brainer that the Marina Bay area is the best place to be for fireworks. The annual Marina Bay Singapore Countdown this year spices things up with a touch of theatrical extravaganza with the iconic skyline. You’ll be in for a ride with Star Island, which brings a performance packed full of action, laser displays, and pyrotechnics. Even your wristbands are going to come with LED lights synchronised to the show. Expect acts like traditional Japanese drumming and fire performances. There’s also a Food Truck Fest to keep your tummy full, as well as a play area to keep the young ones entertained. Best enjoyed with the whole family!

NSFW: NO RAGRETS NEW YEAR’S EVE AT ZOUK

If a lil’ ratchet debauchery is the last thing on your 2018 bucket list, there is no better place to strike off the last thing on your list than at one of the top clubs in the world – Zouk. Go all out and party out all your regrets from the past year, because new year, new you, right? And to make things a little sweeter, there’ll be giveaways happening throughout the nights too but we don’t have any details of the prizes yet. With Hong, Zushan and Jeremy Boon heading up the Zouk mainroom with crowd-pleasers all night long, LeNERD, Nash D and Ghoetto will be keeping the the bass lovers and hip-hop/ trap loveres happy over at Capital.

ELECTRIC SKY AT BAR ROUGE


Want to party it up AND still be able to catch the fireworks? Head up to Bar Rouge in your finest silver threads to join the rest of the sparkling crowd to party your way into the new year in style, to the beats of Kenneth F, Styluxtakut, Rattle, and Fadille. Towering 71 floors above the city, just step to the outside bar when midnight is drawing near for a prime spot to view the above mentioned amazing pyrotechnics that will light up the Marina Bay area once it strikes 12. The stunning metallic wonderland will have plenty of shiny and reflective installations (to remind you to reflect on yourself? the past year?) including a dazzling silver arch made out of prismatic balloons, where you can inscribe your hopes and dreams for 2019. And you’d want to dress your best because the most glamorous one wins a three course dinner with champagne at Skai Restaurant.

Monti at 1-Pavilion

Get front row seats by the bay to watch the fireworks over at Monti! Just for NYE, the chefs over at Monti has created a fancy menu with dishes like Smoked Duck Confit and Pan-Seared Marinated White Cod. After dinner, either head out to the balcony for some fireworks or up to the rooftop to get comfy on the sofas. The views are guaranteed to be gorgeous – we definitely recommend Monti if you want to impress your date.

$118++ per person for the first seating and $300++ per person for the second seating. Rooftop packages cost $2,000++ per sofa, which includes free-flow canapes.

LET’S CELEBRATE 2019

Feeling a little broke but still want to participate in some celebration festivities? Head over to Let’s Celebrate 2019, an annual concert by Mediacorp that is free for everyone to attend this year! The concert will be hosted by Chua En Lai and Sonia Chew, with live performances by local artists like Taufik Batisah, Joanna Dong, Gentle Bones and SPOP SING! Top 4 finalists. You’ll even be able to catch Pierre Png, Sheila Sim and Romeo Tan on the catwalk debuting works designed by Daniel Boey. Even the catwalk tunes will be sung live by singer Aisyah Aziz. It’s going to be an all-rounded Singapore affair all night long.

Prudential Marina Bay Carnival

Bring the entire family out for some carnival fun! The Prudential Marina Bay Carnival is back again having just opened its doors to the public last weekend. The carnival will be extending its opening hours till 2am on NYE so you have more time to enjoy the carnival. There are 3 new thrilling rides to check out this year – the Wave Swinger, Freak Out and Jumper Jumper. And when you’re tired from winning all the plushies, replenish your energy with food offerings from the likes of Burg Nerds, Hasta La Pizza, Singanesia, Sofnade Meaetballs and more!

Bayfront Event Space, 4pm to 2am on NYE. Free admission to the carnival, rides and games require additional tickets.

KAMPONG BOOGIE NEW YEAR’S EVE BLOWOUT

Countdown to 2019 with OverEasy’s very own ball drop! This party is for the music heads with more alternative tunes preferences, with the likes of Intriguant, Joshua P, Funk Bast*rd, Senja and DJ Alx burning up the dance floor. Reggae percussionist Rumshot will also be making a special appearance. It’s boogie-time with some funk, soul, hip-hop, drum ‘n’ bass and disco. Cos that’s how they do it in the kampong.

9pm – 4am at OverEasy Orchard. $30 if you buy online. $50 at the door, includes one drink.

BLOCK PARTY COUNTDOWN AT CLARKE QUAY

You’ll find all the party-goers and punters over at Clarke Quay. After downing a couple pints, head over to the Fountain Square for some entertainment. Spot the roving Unicorn Parade, which will be hard to miss as the unicorn mascots are 3m tall, or entertain yourself with various activities like the pedal-powered LED wall. The countdown on stage will be hosted by DJs Gerald Koh and Kimberly Wang from 987fm, where you’ll welcome the new year with a time-old tradition of singing Auld Lang Syne. After that, continue partying it up at one of the many bars and clubs around Clarke Quay.

SIN CITY: ONE LAST NIGHT OF DEBAUCHERY

Sunshine Nation’s throwing a New Year’s bash over at The Warehouse Hotel, and this is as glitzy as a warehouse party is going to get. Dress up in black and red for a night full of red-hot passion and sin as you vibe to seductive sounds of The Glamourettes, DJ KFC and the sax-y Kaye of Darker Than Wax fame.

9pm till late at The Warehouse Hotel. Tickets at $98, including two drinks. 

NEW YEAR’S EVE COUNTDOWN PARTY AT XANA BEACH CLUB

It’s still not too late to book a quick getaway for NYE. Bintan is only a short 1 hour ferry’s ride away. You can leave on the 31st, welcome the new year in another country, get some much-needed R&R on the 1st and return rejuvenated for work on the 2nd. Dine as the sun sets over the beach and party it up with the resident DJ before the midnight fireworks. Or you can even get your own fireworks for your own mini- celebration! Here’s a tip: book a massage for the next day to get all the kinks out of your body.
