Plantronics’ Latest Range Of Affordable Noise-Canceling Earphones Are Geared Towards Travelers And Fitness Enthusiasts

There’s no one-size-fits-all option when it comes to earphones. And we’re not just talking about the fit of the earbuds in your ears. You might prefer to go wireless without any tangles to worry about, or maybe a long battery life is higher on the list of your priorities when you’re picking a new earpiece.

You might not have heard of Plantronics, a tech brand that specialises in bluetooth earphones and headsets. I’ve had my fair share of crappy bluetooth earphones, and I cannot stress how important it is to invest in a good pair of headphones for a seamless watching and listening experiences on the go.

Plantronics has recently expanded their BackBeat line that is directed for consumers like you and me who use our earphones to listen to music and answering calls. The BackBeat line is divided into two ranges – the FIT line for more active people and outdoor enthusiasts and the GO line for travellers.

Here’s a quick look at all the newest earphones from Plantronics.

FOR THE FITNESS ENTHUSIAST: BACKBEAT FIT 3100

BackBeat FIT 3100, $249. Available in Black and Grey.

Plantronics has finally launched their first ever wireless earbuds, which also boasts a unique Always Aware feature. A lot of earbuds often focus on the “noise-cancelling” aspect of the listening experience, but for those who like to exercise outdoors, totally blocking out all sounds in the environment can actually be quite dangerous. You’d still want to hear the incoming traffic or wild dogs barking, and that’s what the Always Aware feature is for. You’ll be able to enjoy top quality music without having to cut yourself out from the outside world with the BackBeat Fit 3100. And of course, the earbuds are hooked so that they won’t drop off even in the most vigorous exercise and is sweat and water resistant.

FOR THE OUTDOOR RUNNER BACKBEAT FIT 2100

Backbeat FIT 2100, $169. Available in Black, Grey, Blue and Lava Black.

If you still prefer having a wire around your neck to hold your earbuds together because you’re afraid of dropping one, then you might want to go for the BackBeat FIT 2100. The wired earset also comes in dual colours in a stylish design, with a reflective finish for night runs. A single charge can last up to 7 hours of music playback, and this earphones also comes with the Always Aware feature so that you can go on your runs without being afraid of getting run over by the bikes on the sidewalk.

FOR THE GYM RAT: BACKBEAT FIT 350

BackBeat FIT 350, $139. Available in Black/Grey, Grey/Bone and Grey/Blue.

Can’t afford the top range earbuds? The BackBeat FIT 350 is a more affordable option that offers the same stability and sound quality, just with a smaller battery life. Even then, this earset can last up to 6 hours of music playback on a single charge, which is good for a gym session and listening to the latest hits on the way home. Now, you’ll finally be able to block out the sounds of those grunting squatters.

BackBeat Go on the other hand is geared towards travellers with comfortable headphones and surprisingly affordable prices.

FOR THE RUGGED TRAVELLER: BACKBEAT GO 810

BackBeat GO 810, $249. Available in Graphite Black, Navy Blue and Bone White.

When you’re on the plane, snoring seat-mates and crying babies are the worst. The BackBeat Go 810 is the top line headphones for every traveller. The headphones can be connected wirelessly or with a wire, and the ear cups are made to fit snugly over your ears and block out all noise so that you can get some shut-eye. And this baby can last up to 28 hours of playback time – you don’t have to worry about running out of power even when you’re faced with a long transit time. The headphones also has controls on it to answer calls and switch music without you having to pull out your phone.

FOR THE LIGHT TRAVELLER: BACKBEAT GO 410

BackBeat GO 410, $219. Available in Graphite and Bone.

A pair of headphones can be quite bulky, and here’s a much more compact alternative: the BackBeat Go 410. The wired earset that slings around your neck is lightweight yet sturdy that can last up to 10 hours of playback. According to the specs, the earphones can also last up to 50 hours without active noise-canceling mode on and without streaming media, but we can’t vouch for that. And it also comes in a handy pouch to protect your headphones from getting mauled by whatever else is in your backpack. The wireless range of the earphones is also pretty impressive at 30 metres – you can leave your phone in your gym bag and still stream your music!

The Plantronics BackBeat FIT and GO range is now available at Challenger, Harvey Norman, Best Denki, TANGS, Robinsons, Changi Airport and authorised retailers.
