Golden Globe Awards 2019: Who Reigned The Red Carpet?

To counter Monday blues, we’ve got celebrity red carpet looks to the rescue! Today’s SOS serving is a helpful dose of the 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards hosted by Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg.

For over 70 years, silver-screen darlings (and their stylists) have made a show-stopping appearance at the annual awards show, which celebrates the best in film and television. For most people, the nominees, the winners, and perhaps an actor’s memorable acceptance speech caught your attention. For us, it’s their fashion looks that deserve the headlines.

Amidst the glamorous gowns, stars like Lady Gaga rubbed shoulders with the likes of Constance Wu and Lili Reinhart. Expect coloured tulle on display, over 300 Tiffany & Co. diamonds and a few “Cinderella” moments on the 2019 Golden Globe Awards red carpet. Here are some of our favourites.

Oh, Gaga. The “A Star Is Born” actress always impresses on the red carpet, and this year, she paid homage to Judy Garland with subtle nods from her blue Valentino gown. Not only did she dye her hair to match her dress, but she also wore “The Tiffany Aurora necklace”, an exquisite custom piece with a radiant 20-carat pear-shaped diamond by Tiffany & Co.

Constance Wu sure knows a thing or two about looking hella “crazy rich” with her Vera Wang tulle gown and a diamond choker necklace.

The co-host of the awards show and the first Asian woman in history to win multiple Golden Globes, Sandra Oh stuns in a silky Atelier Versace white gown with an exaggerated shoulder.

Tulle moment, part two. Emmy Rossum charmed us with a romantic, strapless Monique Lhuillier ballgown.

Add slaying the red carpet in Calvin Klein to Lupita Nyong’o’s accomplishments. Her embellished gown is giving us major 2014 Met Gala vibes where she also donned a fringed ensemble.

We’re crazy for Gemma Chan’s royal blue Valentino gown. This dress won us over with its functional pockets! Paired with matching heels by Christian Louboutin, it’s a timeless look for the books.

Lili Reinhart made her Golden Globes debut in a red frilly frock by Khyeli Couture. While we missed her beau (Riverdale co-star Cole Sprouse),  the actress shined on her own with jewellery by Swarovski.

We can’t get enough of this head-to-toe Louis Vuitton look on Timothée Chalamet. The custom embroidered bib was a nice departure from the plain ol’ suits we tend to see on the red carpet.
