We’re Now 100% Inspired By These SAG Awards Beauty Looks

Sit tight, here’s another awards season roundup… and this time it’s all about the 25th Screen Actors Guild Awards! We’ll spare you the endless scrolling though, because we understand how your thumbs may be fatigued after that bout of Instagram stalking. Instead, here’s a look at the 3 gorgeous beauty looks that slayed last evening — and the personal favourites we’re now dying to recreate.

PRETTY IN PINK: Gemma Chan

Gown: Oscar de la Renta
Jewellery: Harry Winston

Seriously, this girl can do no wrong! Crazy Rich Asians certainly catapulted her into the limelight, and since then, whether it’s a royal blue gown at the Golden Globes, gold sequins, or hot pink, she rocks up to any party like an absolute goddess. We haven’t seen her falter yet — nor do we think she’s capable of that actually. This time, the lengthy beauty waltzes in with a floor-grazing Oscar de la Renta gown that she carries off with understated ease.

Likewise, the soft elegance of the ruffled masterpiece carries over to her makeup as well — we’re talking feminine shades of pastel, rosy cheeks, and a pink pout that looks healthy and glowy. You’ll have to squint a little here, but we also notice a light wash of lilac over her dark smokey eye too, which helps further soften the look.

LANEIGE Ideal Shadow Quad in Midnight Hyacinth, $42
Guerlain Météorites Highlighter Duo, $98
Chantecaille Philanthropy Cheek in Laughter, $40
Sulwhasoo Essential Lip Serum Stick in No.6 Sweet Pink, $50

To create that same effect, play around with the lavender shades of your eye palette, or mix things up by patting some highlighter onto your lids. As for Gemma’s lips, we got clued in to her secret; here, makeup artist Monika Blunder finished the look with a Sulwhasoo essential, an ultra-hydrating lip serum that both conditions your lips and adds a vibrant pop of colour.

VA-VA-VAMP: Lady Gaga

Gown: Dior
Jewellery: Tiffany & Co.

You can have a hundred people in the room, but none of them will be able to deny the star power of Lady Gaga. She’s been a trailblazer on the red carpet since day one — except, instead of the gloriously bizarre, the A Star Is Born actress is now leaning towards Old Hollywood glam. Very fitting! Fast forward to this look, a Dior SS19 Haute Couture gown that just debuted on the runway a couple days ago. The pure ivory shade’s certainly giving off Marilyn Monroe vibes, while we think having frayed hems alongside the structured Tiffany & Co. choker’s pure genius, really.

But wait, it gets better. For one, she eschews the classic red lip and goes for a decidedly vampy one, which seems to elevate the saccharine vibes of the dress into something much bolder. Of course, we’re now dying to know that exact shade of burgundy-brown lipstick she’s pulling off here, and thankfully, we’ve got answers. Gaga’s makeup artist Sarah Tanno reveals that it’s a mix of Marc Jacobs Beauty’s deep berry lip liner, coupled with the Lip Creme Lipstick in Blow.

Too Faced Chocolate Gold Metallic/Matte Eye Shadow Palette, $76
Pixi Beauty Endless Silky Pen Eyeliner in Black Noir, $27
Marc Jacobs Beauty (P)outliner Longwear Lip Liner Pencil in Currant Mood, $36
Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Creme Lipstick in Blow, $46

Though her slicked-back blond locks, fashioned into an old-school wave, may require the hands of a professional, Gaga’s sultry-glam eye makeup seems like one we can attempt at home. You’ll want to achieve a gilded glaze by sweeping across some gold shimmer all over the lids and on the outer corner of your eyes, followed by packing on gold glitter for extra shine. That smokey effect you see here though comes courtesy of a smudged-out pencil eyeliner, which has just the right intensity so your eyes won’t look washed out by the bold lip.

GLOWIN’ NUDE: Margot Robbie

Gown & Jewellery: CHANEL

We’ve scrolled though enough of Margot Robbie’s pictures to declare this: the Australian actress is pure perfection. She’s one of those people who doesn’t have a bad angle, and we can only look on in admiration. Call her queen, because outside of her turn as Queen Elizabeth in Mary Queen Of Scots, here she is ruling awards show season with an elegant Chanel piece that cuts a very flattering figure.

Makeup-wise, it’s difficult to go wrong here. A nude palette will satisfy most skin tones, but we like what Pati Dubroff has done with Margot’s deceptively simple beauty look: the makeup artist starts off with a healthy canvas of matte skin mixed with the right amount of natural glow, followed by a subtle wash of gold on the eyelids that only dazzle when they catch the light. You can see that shimmering effect here.

CHANEL LES 9 OMBRES Edition N2 Quintessence, $139
Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF 15, $73
Jill Stuart Loose Blush, $54
BECCA x Khloe Kardashian & Malika Haqq Ultimate Lipstick Love in Khloe’s Cupid Kiss, $36

Everything else on the face is then kept soft and delicate to accompany that radiance; a touch of blush gets a little more fun with this fluffy powder blusher, while you know you can always do with another tube of nude lipstick, this time in a luxurious formula that envelops your lips like silk, and a shade handpicked by Khloé Kardashian and Malika Haqq. Fancy!
