10 Items you won’t regret buying at Sephora’s upcoming Gold and Black Sale!

Are you a Sephora Gold or Black card member? Yes? Then mark your calendars! Because the Sephora Gold and Black Sale is happening from 3—7 April 2019, with Gold card members getting access to the sale from 3 April, and Black card members from 4 April. The sale is a 20% storewide discount, and is the best time to stock up on all your essentials, and to try those products you’ve been seeing on our Instagram and eyeing for months! Here’s the game plan:

  1. If you’re not a Gold or Black card member, quickly become one now!
  2. Log in to your account at Sephora.sg and start filling your cart so you have your wish list ready for check-out (popular items sell out really fast during Sephora’s rare sale!).
  3. Standby before midnight on the eve of the sale (3rd April for Gold card members, 4th April for Black card members).

For Gold members:
— Sale starts 3rd April
— Use code GOLD20 when checking out online
— Receive a limited-edition Stay Gold Tumbler with any purchase in-store or online (while stocks last)

For Black members:
— Sale starts 4th April
— Use code BLACK20 when checking out online
— Receive an exclusive Sephora Rose Gold Table Mirror with a minimum spend of $200 in-store or online (while stocks last)

And even though we’re sure you don’t need to be told what to buy, we still couldn’t resist putting together our top 10 items we’re going to be stocking up on! These products are some of the best in their class; they are tried and tested by the NYLON team, and you won’t regret any of these purchases. Here we go:

1. THE CLEANSER: Foreo Luna Play Plus, $63.20 (O.P. $79)

We’ve written about this amazing gadget many, many, many times. It cleans the face gently, but effectively; and with cleaner skin, you get clearer skin (that is, less breakouts). The regular sized Foreo is definitely an investment piece because of its price, but the smaller Luna Play Plus is much more affordable; and now with 20% knocked off, don’t just be tempted to get one — actually get one. Your skin will thank you for it.

2. THE PRE-SERUM: LANCÔME Advanced Genifique Youth Activator, $176 (O.P. $220 for 75ml)

This cult booster makes a 7-day promise: better skin. And you know what, the first time I tried it and gave it those 7 days (day and night), my skin was glowing! My pores looked smaller, and my skin looked and was actually smoother. By the way, it also claims to boost whatever serum you use after it by 3 times. THREE TIMES!

3. THE SERUM: Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum, $91.20 (O.P. $114)

These guys are still in a legal battle with Skinceuticals (owned by L’Oreal) over a vitamin C patent. But you know what, while it’s still on the shelf, snap it up! Because it’s cheaper (than the gold standard Skinceuticals C E Ferulic vitamin C serum), and works the same (as the Skinceuticals version). And just like the Skinceuticals product, this Drunk Elephant serum firms, brightens and evens skin tone.

4. THE MOISTURISER: Drunk Elephant Protini™ Polypeptide Cream, $76.80 (O.P. $96)

This is another hit from Drunk Elephant. It’s a moisturiser with a cocktail of “signal peptides, growth factors, supportive amino acids and pygmy waterlily”, which revives tired-looking skin, and improves skin texture and firmness. This cream also has a lovely balmy texture that glides across skin like a dream, and absorbs readily upon application.

5. THE MAKEUP BASE: Tatcha The Silk Canvas Primer, $57.60 (O.P. $72)

This is pretty much the perfect primer in every aspect; beautiful packaging, sublime texture and scent, and silky smooth finish. A worthy investment even when not on sale.

6. THE CONCEALER: Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, $33.60 (O.P. $42)

Here’s the cult concealer everyone has been raving about since it launched. You can use it as a highlighter and contouring product (if you buy lighter and darker shades), or just as its name implies — as a concealer. It works well concealing blemishes, pigmentation, under-eye rings and redness around the nose.

7. THE POWDER: Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder, $56 (O.P. $70)

Many refer to this powder as the benchmark for loose setting powders, and for good reason — it doesn’t add weight or texture to the skin, doesn’t settle into fine lines or appear cakey, it does not reflect the flash in photos, but instead offers a soft blur finish to mask imperfections. Like many say — it’s the benchmark.

8. THE EYESHADOW: Urban Decay Naked Reloaded Eyeshadow Palette, $56.80 (O.P. $71)

Everyone with a Naked palette loves their Naked palette. This one is the updated version of the original from 2010; it offers 12 flattering shades for the eyes that will work on any skin tone.

9. THE EYELINER: Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner, $25.60 (O.P. $32)

This liquid eyeliner has been around for years, and it’s so good (glides on, is super intense, and is smudge proof), you can now find it in 9 shades at Sephora. But you know what, get the black. Always get the black.

10. THE HAIR TREATMENT: IGK Expensive Amla Oil Hi-Shine Topcoat, $34.40 (O.P. $43)

This IGK “topcoat” is a miracle waiting to happen to your hair. It’s an in-shower treatment that adds instant shine, frizz-control and manageability, and works on all hair types. As its name implies, it is expensive, but we think it’s worth the money. And now that it’s on sale, we’re — you guessed it — stocking up!
