What are your creative tips for taking pictures at night?

“I like to look out for certain locations with good lighting or unique abstract art. Even back alleys look cool as well.”

“having A camera with a good low light setting, being creative with whatever natural light source you have around, and accessorising with any reflective bling to catch the light — that’s always a nice touch.”

“I find complementary colours and use silhouettes as a storytelling tool.“

“Look out for particular spots, such as backdrops with light streaks and crazy colours, where the subject can stand out! These elements add another dimension to photographs taken at night.“
what keeps your creativity going at night?
Christopher Van Huizen:
“Listening to music and cruising around town!”
Inch Chua:
“Good ideas make it hard to let go. When you’re on to something, the creative adrenaline goes in flow. I also occasionally indulge in some delta waves binaural beats therapy.”
Lee Yik Keat:
“The energy that the city gives — it’s all about interacting with the elements of light and movements.”

“Exploring and looking out for something unique! The city at night offers so much more than what we usually see in the day.”
Is there a place you always revisit to get inspiration?
Christopher Van Huizen:
“Most of the time, I’d head to MBS or if not, the CBD area.”
Inch Chua:
“I like to be around nature. Seletar Reservoir at night is definitely a favourite.”
Lee Yik Keat:
“If you’re talking about overseas, it’ll have to be Tokyo! I really love the organised chaos. In Singapore, I love Chinatown. It has lots of character and every scene is different.”

“The coast at Marina South Pier, where the sunset is gorgeous and ever-changing.”
