This collection inspired the brand’s latest “All The Stories Are True” campaign, which offered females from all around the world the opportunity to redefine what it means to be a ‘GIRL’. Converse has uncovered amazing stories of girls who are breaking the mould of what is traditionally expected of them, whether it’s being a self-defence instructor or a tech expert. The English actress is well-known for her role as Eleven in the Netflix series ‘Stranger Things’, but did you know that she is also committed to activism? She is UNICEF’s youngest ever Goodwill Ambassador, raising awareness of children’s rights and other youth-related issues including access to education, and the impact of violence, bullying and poverty. The 15-year-old will take the lead for the “All The Stories Are True” campaign, supporting the movement and amplifying the message.

When she first began wearing the hijab, she could not find a ballet class that would allow her to do so while training. That however, did not stop her from chasing her dream. She hopes to inspire young girls to pursue their dreams regardless of their race, religion or background.

The aim of the campaign is to redefine a word: "girl". Why? Its definition in vocabularies is just not right. Just check it in any Polish vocabulary and you will see it defines girl as "home help" (pomoc domowa) and "errand girl" (dziewczyna na posyłki) or „young” (girl is ageless!) Redefine the definition of ‘GIRL’ on blank postcards, which are available at all Converse boutiques. These collected definitions will then be sent to lexicographers all over the world, before being compiled for an even bigger project!
