Southeast Asia’s First Pokémon GO Safari Zone Is Coming To Sentosa!

Remember that 2016 craze when almost everyone, no matter young or old, was playing Pokémon GO? Was it just a fad? Maybe, but I’m sure there are still Pokémon GO enthusiasts who enjoy the game and play it religiously everyday. Well, fans of the game are going to be in for a real treat — Southeast Asia’s first Pokémon GO Safari Zone will be taking place in Singapore from 18 to 22 April! Organised by the Sentosa Development Corporation in collaboration with Niantic and The Pokémon Company, this event is sure to be a hit with all the Pokémon fans out there.

Hunt for your favourite Pokémons through Sentosa’s golden beaches and past its many attractions, from the Sentosa Boardwalk to Tanjong Beach. Who knows? You might just be able to catch region-specific Pokémons like Tropius, Shiny Shuckle and Unown! Don’t worry about running low on supplies, there will be multiple PokéStops along the way for you to stock up on them. Oh, and if you’re physically low on energy, you can always fill up your stomach at more than 120 dining options at Sentosa!

For you to remember this fun adventure, there will be multiple photo points across the island for you to take pictures with various Pokémons! This will also be a great social activity for all the Pokémon trainers to gather together, swap tips and trade Pokémons.

Registration runs from 5 to 7 March, so if you’re interested, do indicate your interest and select your preferred date of play on the event website here. You can bid for places individually or in a group of up to three applicants. Over 100,000 places will be available for free across the five-day event, but a ballot will be held to select participants. Participation in the event is limited to the day stated in the confirmation email, in order to give as many trainers a chance to take part.

If you get a slot, you’ll be notified on 11 March via the email you registered with. A QR code, which serves as your ticket, will then be sent to you at a later date. If you don’t get a slot, you are still welcomed to the event and can enjoy normal gameplay, but you won’t be able to enjoy the specialised elements at the event.
