If you’re way into the beauty community, there’s no way you haven’t caught wind of the #BRATZCHALLENGE. The challenge involves using makeup to transform into your favourite Bratz doll, with some participants even going so far as to put on wigs and assemble closely matching outfits!
The Bratz slogan, “The girls with a passion for fashion” rang true— Bratz dolls were the embodiment of EXTRA! Needless to say, people are loving it, with over 60k posts in the #bratzchallenge instagram posts, and so are we! Although this definitely isn’t a casual everyday face, there are elements of the Bratz face that can be incorporated into more wearable makeup looks.
Lips
Lip Liner
Bratz dolls rocked overlined lips way before Kylie Jenner did, and the full lip is a distinctive feature of any Bratz doll. It’s definitely a popular look that isn’t too hard to achieve, and definitely gives your pout that extra pop. Here are three accessible and affordable options for you to get in line with!
Lip Gloss
Lip gloss was all the early 2000s rage, and now they’re back again, for good reason! Gloss is easily one of the most fun beauty products, coming in all sorts of scents and shades. A simple gloss can transform a lip look easily, adding dimension and giving the illusion of bigger lips. Here are some of our faves to get you started!
Eyes
False Eyelashes
Everything about Bratz dolls is go big or go home, even down to their huge doe eyes! Voluminous lashes are a must if you want to draw attention to your peepers. False eyelash naysayers tend to be concerned about lashes looking unnatural, but if you’re going to doll up, then doll up! No holding back here; these are our picks for the lushest lashes, whether you prefer a more natural look or full-blown drama!
Mascara
Sometimes, more is more! So why not add additional dimension to your eye look with mascara? There are lots of mascaras out in the market, some specifically for functions like volumising or lengthening. Here, we’ve picked out some of our best all-rounders, for no-smudge, no-flake, all-day wear. Make those lashes flutter, and some hearts too!
Eyeliner
Fierce winged liner is undoubtedly a hallmark of the sharp, defined Bratz eye look. To recreate this look, we’ve opted for these liquid eyeliners for their sharpness and precision, and their inky, jet-black opacity.
Face
Contour
While Bratz dolls don’t have much visible contour, that’s because their faces come already snatched and jawlines sharpened. The rest of us who are only human will have to settle for our trusty palettes and/or sticks. These are our favourite products for getting the job done, without actually getting a job done.
What’s your take on the #BRATZCHALLENGE? Whether you’ll be checking these products out to participate or just for everyday wear, we know you’ll be looking like a doll! As the tagline goes, “It’s good to be a Bratz!”
