Dyson’s Launches Three New Devices Designed For Your Well-Being

When it comes to vacuum cleaners, there really isn’t any brand more well-known than Dyson. After all, founder James Dyson poured his entire heart and soul into perfecting the vacuum cleaner – developing 5,127 prototypes designs over 6 years before producing his first prototype vacuum cleaner. And, as the saying goes, the rest is history.

From vacuum cleaners featuring advanced filtration systems to hygienic hand dryers, Dyson has come a long way in providing meaningful solutions to everyday problems and on 8 May 2019, Dyson unveiled three intelligent products that echo that very sentiment.

AN INTELLIGENT VACUUM CLEANER IN THE DYSON V11

First of the triple tech launch is the latest in their well-known vacuum cleaner series: the Dyson V11 Absolute cord-free vacuum. Worked on by 315 engineers, Dyson breathed intelligence into the V11. Implanting computer chips into the everyday vacuum cleaner? Never would’ve thought of it, yet here we are!

Cutaway of the High torque cleaner head

The V11 has microprocessors installed inside the High Torque cleaner head, the digital motor and inside the battery. All this translates to a beautiful piece of smart cleaning equipment that clearly differentiates itself from its predecessors. Powered by Dyson’s “most powerful battery yet” the digital motor is able to automatically adjust suction power depending on floor type. Also, there’s now a helpful LCD display – a feature not seen in previous models – which users can see how much runtime is remaining, as well as enjoy easy mode switching between Eco, Auto and Boost.

Improving upon the V10, engineers implemented a triple diffuser in the new Dyson digital motor V11. The first two diffusers straighten airflow and reduce turbulence, helping to improve suction. The last diffuser reduces noise even better than before. All this makes for a very impressive piece of cleaning equipment.

Other features include:
• 20% more suction power than the Dyson Cyclone V10 vacuum.
• Intelligently optimises power and run time.
• Captures 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns.
• Up to 60 mins fade-free floor cleaning with Dyson’s most powerful battery.

A FAN THAT PURIFIES AIR

With harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs) at home that come from a multitude of products such as hairspray, cleaning equipment and the like, it’s scary to think that we are exposed to all these microscopic bacteria and pollutants. To make matters worse, a study states that we spend up to 90% of our time and activities indoors!

The Dyson Pure Cool Me™ personal purifying fan is available at $499

Charged with creating engineering products that focus on our well-being, it’s no surprise that Dyson, with their expertise in air filtration and projection technologies, have improved upon the conventional fan. Two days ago, they unveiled the Dyson Pure Cool Me™ – Dyson’s first personal air treatment device.

Perfect next to your bed, in a nursery or on your desk, Dyson Pure Cool Me™ not only cools but purifies the air as well. Combined with its Core Flow™ technology, the personal purifying fan delivers a steady stream of purified air and allows you to direct the airflow exactly where you want and as quietly as possible.

Other features include:
• HEPA filter captures 99.95% of particles as small as allergens, and ultrafine particles such as pollen, mould spores and bacteria.
• Activated carbon absorbs and traps gases, odours and household fumes.
• Acoustically engineered to be as quiet as possible.

A SMART LIGHT THAT CARES

Remember the days where the rising and setting of the sun used to be the natural signal for waking and sleeping? Of course not. Ever since the invention of artificial light, we’ve extended our activities into the night and in the long run, this could prove detrimental to our health. And in recent times, plenty of studies have been done on the harmful effects of the overexposure to blue light emitting from our digital devices.

The Dyson Lightcycle™ task light is available from July 2019

To fix that, the Dyson Lightcycle™ task light was made with the intention to support your body clock. A 32-bit microprocessor is the brains behind this smart light. It continually takes in information such as the date, location and time and constantly adjusts its colour temperature and brightness to simulate the natural light outside. For example, using it in the evening calls for warmer light and the Dyson Lightcycle™ task light will adjust accordingly, providing the right light for the right time – effectively maintaining your eye health.

Though powered by efficient LEDs, they tend to lose their brightness and colour temperature over time due to heat generation. To address this problem, Dyson engineers made use of Heat Pipe Tech – a cooling device often found in satellites – that help constantly cool its LED, ensuring that light quality lasts for 60 years.

Other features include:
• Glare protection, low optical flicker and over 1,000 Lux brightness to reduce eye strain.
• Maintains light quality for 60 years thanks to Heat Pipe tech.
• Smart personalisation: intelligently adjusts light for age, tasks and daily routine with the Dyson Link app.
