Explore The Land Of Smiles At Klook’s Thai Open House

We’re almost halfway through the year, and we’ve been itching for a vacation! Feel like you need a little escape too? We might have just the solution for you.

In partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Klook has launched the first-ever Thai Open House at Plaza Singapura for an entire week, from May 21st to 26th! Prepare for your wanderlust to spike just in time for the summer holidays — it won’t be easy to resist taking a trip to the land of smiles after this. It’s exactly what it sounds like it is, an open house where travellers are free to roam and explore different parts of Thailand. While most are familiar with Bangkok, there is a lot more to the country than the bustling Thai capital. Visitors will be able to discover Thailand through food, retail stalls, performances, demonstrations and fun activities.

Food

Get a literal taste of Thailand from a variety of F&B booths serving up classic Thai dishes at affordable prices. Eat your way through selections from Co+Nut+ink, Uncle G’s Handmade, Gu Thai Noodle Cafe, Baan Ying and Bangkok Jam.

Clockwise: Bangkok Jam’s Thai Beef Ball Noodles, Gu Thai Noodle Cafe’s Pandan Chicken, Uncle G’s Handmade Crispy Roasted Pork with Thai Dip, Baan Ying’s Stuffed Chicken Wing with Minced Pork & Noodles

We sampled a few dishes and they definitely did not disappoint. Our tastebuds were transported to Thailand with  surprisingly generous servings of authentic Thai cuisine. A couple of our favourites were Uncle G’s Handmade Crispy Roasted Pork with Thai Dip and Bangkok Jam’s Thai Beef Ball Noodles, but honestly, everything we had was absolutely delectable. Take a look at a few more dishes that are available below.

Here’s a little tip for all our readers — if you make your food purchases using the Klook app for iPhone or Android, you get a special discounted price for most food selections! Pre-booking your food on the Klook app will also enter you into a giveaway, but we’ll touch more on that later.

Retail

With the help of ShopJJ, Klook’s Thai Open House has also brought in a few local Thai retailers, bringing the heart of Chatuchak Market to you! With booths by BeFearless, FAHFAHSWORLD, Loma.Whale, Moonset and Second Studio, visitors will be able to find unique pieces from cult-favourite indie brands that only Thailand has to offer.

Activities

For those of you who are a little more hands-on, don’t fret! You can look forward to a range of Thai activities, including a public Flower Arrangement Workshop by Second Studio on May 24th, Pandan Leaf Folding, Fruit Carving Demonstrations and various Cooking Demonstrations by Baan Ying!

Traditional Thai Dance Performance

On top of that, there will also be travel talks held on the weekend of 25th and 26th May. Topics include:

  • “Smiles, Sanuk and Songkran” by travel correspondent Amy Tan from The Straits Times
  • “Hidden Gems of Bangkok and Beyond” by The Travel Intern
  • “Thailand On A Budget” by The Smart Local
  • “Guide to Khao Kho” by Tripcanvas
  • “Level Up Your Travel Photography” by Tripeaks Imagery

Questions?

The best part of Klook’s Thai Open House is probably the fact that Klook staff will be there to answer any and all of your travel queries at the “Ask Klook” booth! There is also a “bring a friend” booth, where existing Klook users and their new-to-Klook friends can each receive $10 vouchers that you can use on your next vacation. A whole bunch of freebies can be claimed at the Klook redemption booth, so don’t hesitate to pay them a visit!

For those of you who’ve made it this far, we’ve got some pretty good news for you. Remember the giveaway we mentioned earlier? Klook is generously giving away 45 trips worth $500 each, and all visitors are eligible to take part in this giveaway. To stand a chance to win, visitors simply need to pre-book their food on the Klook app — a chance to win a great prize AND shorter queues at the food stalls? Sounds like a great deal to us. Another way to stand a chance to win would be to design you ideal Thai itinerary at the experiential zone of the event, and post it on your social media with the hashtag #KlookOpenHouse. Klook credit will also be up for grabs, and this can be used towards trips to more than 270 destinations! All you have to do is speak to the friendly staff at the event to learn more.

If all this isn’t enough to get you to check out Klook’s Thai Open House, we don’t know what is — it all sounds pretty good to us. RSVP here for exclusive updates and visit Klook’s website for more information. If you don’t have the Klook app yet, download it for iPhone or Android now!
