2019 brings the return of the shiny, glossy lip. Earlier this year, YSL added 12 new shades to their Rouge Volupté Shine collection, and 8 shades for a completely new Volupté Plump-In-Colour line. Just last month, we saw a major push for Dior’s new Addict Stellar Shine lipstick. And now, Chanel’s double-ended liquid lipstick just arrived in the NYLON office and it’s got the team excited all over again.
The Chanel Le Rouge Duo Ultra Tenue has finally made its way to Asia and is a liquid lipstick that is extremely shiny and very colourful. One side houses the intense colour which you slick on first, while the other side is a clear gloss that you layer over the colour, resulting in a super shiny lip that Chanel claims will last for hours.
The NYLON team tried on 6 of the shades, and between colours, needed the shu uemura oil cleanser to remove each one before trying on the next — so yes, the colour stays. The most natural colour is 40 Light Rose, which is the easiest to apply and get right. The most intense colour is 47 Daring Red, which Amelia took some time to perfect the lip shape.
