For some (heck, even for most of us), we loathe the idea of going to the optometrist to get our eyes checked. The time spent waiting, examining our vision, going through a limited range of optical wear, are just some of the few things about the optical store that serves our gripe. But thankfully enough, Videre’s new store at The Centrepoint has introduced a new meaning to your usual optical experience.
Supported by Define® by ACUVUE®, the new store integrates eye-health, beauty and cosmetics into one retail concept store all under one roof — the first of its kind in Singapore.
During the preview of the store, I popped by to have a look at the new space — and boy was I in for a surprise. Honestly, there’s only so much a store can go when it comes to its design but having something that’s out of the norm, with the inclusion of the concept of beauty, obviously piqued my interest.
It goes without saying that this space was indeed very brightly lit and eye-catching — and with all the pun intended, you’d have to agree that this store really lives up to giving its customers a new experience. Peep their pink wall at the front of the entrance — totally bait-worthy for you to upgrade your ‘Grams with, also because it’s in the iconic millennial pink hue. Need we say more?
At the store, you can expect to see Videre’s exclusive partnership with Define® by ACUVUE® at the Define® Salon where you’ll get to choose from an extensive collection of coloured lenses. At this part of the store, you’ll also get to experience their revolutionary Define® Virtual Mirror, an augmented reality (AR) feature which allows users to virtually try on the full range of 1-day Define® by ACUVUE® beauty lenses. There are 28 unique makeup looks to choose from, while the device also offers beauty tips for eyes — all within a touch of the button. It’s really simple to use and, from my experience, it helps me visualise and filter out which design fits my look. Gone are the days where I’d have to download those dodgy apps from the App Store where you’d have to manually edit the lenses to your own selfie — phew!
But hold up, it doesn’t end there. Remember when I first mentioned about it being an eye-health, beauty and cosmetic retail concept store? I wasn’t kidding. Videre has also collaborated with Amorepacific to host K-Beauty brand pop-ups within the store itself — which refreshes every quarter. You don’t just get to shop, but customers will also get to enjoy beauty consultations and makeup tutorials in the store itself too!
So what else makes this store any different from the others you might ask? Here at Videre, customers will also get to enjoy more premium and comprehensive eye health services with the inclusion of state-of-the-art facilities such as the Vision-R 800™ phoropter and Wave Analyzer Medica 700+. What’s unique about these facilities is that they simplify screening and give a more accurate reading — while reducing chair time.
Visiting the new store here at Videre really changed my perspective of going to your traditional optical store — it’s curated and imbued with a consistent theme, where beauty is supported by health, for a more holistic experience with personalised eye health and beauty services.
