Ahead of one of music’s biggest nights — the 2019 MTV EMAs — celebrity artists have already begun encouraging their fans to vote and preparing for the red carpet event on November 3 in Seville, Spain.
Reigning in with 7 nominations in 7 different categories is Ariana Grande for her hit single “7 rings”, and joining her for the Best Artist award are the likes of Taylor Swift and J Balvin. Following closely behind are Shawn Mendes, as well as popular newcomers Lil Nas X and Billie Eilish, all of whom received six nominations each.
The likes of 21 Savage, BTS and Jasmine Sokko also have bids for either Best Hip-hop, Best Live, and Best SEA act, with Latin powerhouse Becky G as the host; below, an assembly of the 2019 MTV EMA nominees!
A night dedicated to showcasing the best of musical talent, it also serves as a veritable playground of celebrating different genres and talent around the world like no other.
Hailing from Singapore, local singer (and NYLON Singapore’s July Cover Girl) Jasmine Sokko has risen up the ranks with her latest single, “TIRED”, and even scored a nod as a nominee for Best Southeast Asia act!
Equally deserving of your attention? Artists from Lewis Capaldi to Ava Max are up for Best New while duos like Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello look like frontrunners for their song, “Señorita“.
Also in the spotlight is the 2019 MTV EMAs host, Becky G, who has nabbed a nomination for Best Pop and is set to perform on stage, too! Also set to perform are Halsey, Rosalía, Akon, Ava Max and Mabel!
Since sharing is caring, Singaporeans can also watch the show live on the MTV Play app on Nov 4 at 3 a.m. Airing live globally in nearly 180 countries at 9 p.m. CET, you can start voting here until November 2 at 11:59 p.m. CET.
