In case you haven’t heard, an old friend has crashed on Comedy Central. Her name? Season 4 of Stand-Up, Asia! Hosted by Benjamin Kheng and Hirzi Zulkiflie of The BenZi Project, the star-studded line-up includes Sam See, Yumi Nagashima, and other Asian comedians from the likes of Brunei, Phillippines and Taiwan.
From the teaser featuring BenZi, we can anticipate generous servings of sketches from the duo!
And as we count down to the premiere happening tomorrow on 12 November, the assemble of 12 of the freshest and funniest Asian comedians is an opportune moment to schedule some time to catch this series — expect heavy doses of stand-up satire and possibly a cameo or two in the sketches.
The full lineup includes: Aaron Chen (Australia), Zainal Bostaman (Brunei), Storm Xu (China), Yumi Nagashima (Japan/Canada), Hannan Azlan (Malaysia), Kavin Jay (Malaysia), Nigel Ng (Malaysia), JR De Guzman (Philippines/US), Ryan Puno (Philippines), Qamarul Haziq (Singapore), Sam See (Singapore) and Brian Tseng (Taiwan).
Ranging from Storm Xu’s animated style of dishing on cultural differences to Aaron Chen’s stone-cold killer persona during his offbeat set, this 8-part series plans to redefine what it means to be unstaged and unexpected, especially with the new stand-up and sketch format.
