Comic-Con in Singapore?  Yes! Pop-culture geeks, cosplay fans,  gaming enthusiasts and everything else in between can finally rejoice as Singapore Comic Convention (SGCC) rolls into town this year-end.

Fans can expect everything from artist panels, meet and greets to e-sports gaming tournaments. There’s definitely something for everyone! It’s happening on 7-8 December and to make sure you get the most bang for your buck, here are six things you definitely need to check out!

#1 Pick the brains of notable comic artists including ones from DC Comics!

If you’re a budding comic artist, you’re in luck. SGCC is the best and maybe the only time you’ll meet artists like three-time New York Times best-selling artist Mark Simpson (aka Jock).

His works include graphic titles such as Wolverine, Batman: The Black Mirror series and he has even produced key art concept designs for films like Iron Man 3, The Dark Knight Trilogy, and Star Wars: Episode VII! Other notable artists include Greg Capullo (Spawn, Batman, World of Warcraft), Livio Ramondelli (DC Universe Online, Transformers), Sarah Andersen (Sarah Scribbles), Yasmine Putri (DCeased) and Donny Cates (God Country, Venom, Silver Surfer). It’ll be a golden opportunity for you to glean pearls of knowledge from them and get even signed exclusives.

#2 Get wicked sick at SGCC’s e-sport tournaments

Whether it’s PC, console or even tabletop, it’s all big gaming love here at SGCC. Watch and cheer for teams as they duke it out at Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and DOTA 2 leagues at PVP @ SGCC. Who knows, you could discover an innovative new meta to try out back home with your kakis. If you just want to chill, there’s a Free Play gaming area for the young and old.

#3 Save a helpless tribe of villagers

Old school gaming’s also making a return, especially after the whole Dungeons & Dragons shebang from Stranger Things. If you ever wondered what it’s like to save a tribe of villagers under threat from an evil force from the swamps of Kuzatan, then definitely come down. You can also try your hand at painting those intricately detailed figurines to take home as memorabilia!

#4 Battle or show-off your Pokémon card collection

If you have yet to catch ’em all, you can at SGCC. If you’re a hardcore Pokémon fan still holding onto your specially sealed Pokémon cards, why not take part in the Comic-Con Pokémon Championship Series Special Event? It’ll feature the standard Pokémon Trading Card Game format and Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon on Nintendo 3DS. You might even earn a spot in the prestigious Pokémon World Championships!

#5 Cosplay, of course!

It just wouldn’t be a comic convention without the existence of cosplayers. You’ll definitely find your favourite characters brought to life by insanely talented fans. In fact, the best of Singapore’s cosplay scene will culminate in a competition where the grand champion will win a fully-sponsored trip to the grand finals at Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo next year!

If you’re just starting out in the cosplay scene, SGCC’s got you covered too. There’ll be informative stage content with know-hows on everything cosplay, especially makeup.

#6 Merch, merch and more merch

There’s no Comic-Con without merch. You’re going to want to make sure that piggy’s full at home ’cause there’ll be everything from exclusive clothes, toys and posters to limited-edition collectables.
