It’s a new year with new beginnings and at the NYLON office, that means doing a bit of re-decoration to kickstart our 2020. Following the installation of our gorgeous wallpaper, the team realised that the reception area didn’t quite come together and that was because we were missing a nice, comfy sitting area.
On a mission, we headed to Courts Megastore in search of the perfect sofa for the NYLON office. It is not an exaggeration whenever it comes to describing the Courts outlet located in Tampines. In a stand-alone building alongside its neighbours IKEA and Giant, the Courts Megastore offers shoppers like us three spacious floors full of electrical, IT and furniture choices.
We all agree that the ability to customise sofas makes furniture shopping fun again, and Courts is good at ensuring you leave satisfied with the choice you’ve made without paying a premium. We made our way to Home & Living on Level 2 where it didn’t take long for us to pick out the newest addition to the NYLON office.
As a new arrival at Courts, the Steffen is a fabric sofa model from King Koil that is built using a pocketed spring system to create a mattress-like surface with better support for comfortable seating. In place of the usual foam material in sofas, the pocketed high spring ensures that your sofa stays in shape despite the long term use. The best part about it is the feel of the seats which is almost similar to resting on a KingKoil mattress. This also means that we have the ability to choose between two degrees of firmness to find the right fit.
Another plus point that had us sold on the Steffen is the removable fabric covers. Not only are they easy to remove, but the covers are also machine washable which means no worries for us when there are accidental food or coffee spills. The covers are also customisable with more than 50 different fabric and colour options that we can choose from. Based on the overall colour scheme of our reception area, we went with the colour combination of Ash Grey for the sofa, and Rose Violet for the cushions.
In addition to the model we chose, Courts has over 1,000 possible combinations for you to customise and personalise your dream sofa. This includes selecting the sofa model and varying degrees of firmness, to deciding on a steel or wood sofa fitting and choosing from over 200 fabric and leather covers to best fit your ideal sofa.
Though it is common to have customised furniture be delivered well after three or four weeks since your purchase, Courts actually shortens that wait time to a minimum of two weeks, with quality checks such as wear and strength testing done, before it makes its way to you. There’s no need to worry about sofa maintenance either as Courts also offers a complimentary cleaning and maintenance service which would come in handy when caring for your new dream sofa!
