6 Places Where You Can Still Satisfy Emergency Bubble Tea Cravings

In case you haven’t heard, the Circuit Breaker period has been extended — this means more restrictions over what is or isn’t an essential business. Previously, most food and beverage outlets remained open for takeaway and delivery, but newly implemented restrictions have caused the temporary shutdown of standalone beverage, packaged snack, confectionary and dessert stores — this includes our local favourite: Bubble Tea.

When the announcement was made on April 21, Singaporeans scrambled to get their final bubble tea fix throughout the evening, before the clock struck 11:59PM. Customers flooded their neighbourhood bubble tea outlets and delivery apps were bombarded with orders. Dare I say there was more demand for bubble tea that night than there was for toilet paper?

For those of you who think you might’ve missed out on your last sip, fret not. As listed on the official List of Essential Services, current essential F&B outlets include hawker centres, coffee-shops, food courts, restaurant and fast food outlets. This means that while standalone bubble tea shops are closed, the ones that are situated within bigger establishments will remain open for takeaway and delivery.

Here are some places you can support while satisfying your tea needs!

1. Monga Fried Chicken

Orange Green Tea ($4.50), Black Dragon ($4.20), Green Dragon ($4.20)

Their signature Taiwanese Brown Sugar Milk Teas are also available in Original and Matcha flavours, aptly named the Black Dragon ($4.20) and Green Dragon ($4.20) respectively.

While it’s not bubble tea, Kombucha is a drink that many know and love. Bottled fresh daily, this sweet beverage is thought to contain probiotics, which are beneficial for your health.
