If you’re in the market for a new laptop and are looking for an alternative to the common brands and models in the market, you’re in luck! First announced at CES 2020, LG’s latest gram series, is the range of laptops designed to set a new standard for portable computers — to satisfy our modern needs, it aims to give users the full experience of a lightweight, compact, high performing laptop with long battery life.

The series of laptops, which includes the impressive LG gram 17, is powered by the 10th Generation Intel® Core™ processor with Iris® Plus graphics and up to 24GB of dual-channel DDR4 memory. This doubles the graphic processing power of its predecessors which gives us all the speed and power to perform light to heavy-duty tasks from putting together a powerpoint presentation, to editing 4K videos on-the-go and even enjoying a round of smooth, uninterrupted gaming.

Even with the impressive hardware and large 80Wh battery that offers up to 17 hours per charge, the LG gram 17 still maintains a lightweight body, weighing slightly above 1kg — which means you no longer have to worry about accomodating the weight of a heavy laptop because of its features!

Even though the LG gram 17 is built with a 17-inch display, it doesn’t compromise the lightweight 15-inch body that’s made using Nano Carbon Magnesium full metal alloy that puts its total weight just slightly above 1kg — almost the weight equivalent of four cans of soda. When compared to other laptops with large displays, you’ll notice that the innovative design and construction of the LG gram 17 makes for a real gamechanger especially when you’re looking for a laptop that delivers in both portability and functionality.

The LG gram 17 (17Z90N) comes with a large 17-inch Wide Quad Extended Graphics Array (WQXGA) (2560 x 1600) IPS display with a 16:10 aspect ratio that delivers highly detailed images in incredibly precise colours, alongside more surface room to work when editing videos, photos, and documents. This is something particularly useful for content creators like designers and video editors who can now see more of the content that they are working with.

With specifications that are comparable to those found in gaming laptops, it is able to create the same high performing standard that content creators need whenever they are on-the-go.

An upgrade from the previous generations of LG gram computers sees the Korean tech company trade-in the M.SATA SSD for the NVMe PCLe SSD, which offers faster memory for better and faster performance. Swapping out your old laptop means upgrading to one that is more efficient and the LG gram 17 fits that requirement perfectly with its Thunderbolt™ 3 port. Not only does it enable 40Gbps data and high-bandwidth video, including a 4K signal to two different screens, or 5K to a single screen; it also helps you to simplify your setup with just a single cable to use for video and audio, data transfer, and simultaneous laptop charging.
