Cute can be cringey, there we said it. Unpopular opinion, but sometimes we don’t get the hype over Hello Kitty and her contemporaries — and yet, there are exceptions, because sometimes cute’s just way too hard to resist. Think, Balenciaga’s Hello Kitty collection, which kept just the right amount of details without being tacky. Or here, the MCM Zoo collection, of bags adorned with a charming animal friend each, peeking over your purse, just so.
The luxury German brand gives us reason to rejoice with their iconic MCM Rabbit — a tribute to Easter — and Bear popping up across crossbody bags that are crafted with that signature Visetos monogram print on coated canvas. Gold hardware elevates the style, while the key shades of Powder Pink and Berlin Gold, a soft champagne, are both classy and feminine. Then, there are backpacks that look like you’re taking your furry friend out for a walk. A little on the too-cute side, but if you can pull it off, why not?
To accompany your new accessory, there’s also a series of whimsical key rings, including quirky ones where bunny dresses up in a flamboyant disco-style complete with little roller skates, or a wild child skater chick on a skateboard. This time, cute works.
