First introduced in July 2019, the Converse Renew series has been the sneaker mogul’s answer to reducing waste and improving its sustainability efforts. First with plastic bottles, then with denim, the brand has officially moved on to making use of waste cotton, creating a new version of their iconic Chucks.
Coming May 15th are the Renew Cotton Chuck Taylor All Stars, in both a high-top and low-cut version. Made from about 30% of recycled cotton canvas and regrind rubber, these leather-free kicks come with a distinct texture, uniquely made through the recycling process. Each pair bears a contrast undyed panel and cut-out window patch, along with a distinct speckled rubber outsole.
The Renew story is printed on the underside of each tongue, and with a comfy OrthoLite insole in each shoe, you’ll be walking around light on your feet and in your heart.
A platform version of these feel-good chucks will also be available, in a Fuel Orange and White colourway.
Also coming May 15th are the Renew Cotton Chuck 70s, a raw take on the iconic silhouette. Made with about 40% recycled cotton canvas, each pair features raw seams and a minimalist, screen-printed patch.
Like its All Star partner, each tongue bears the Renew story on the underside, accompanied by OrthoLite insoles in each shoe, plus a speckled, regrind rubber outsole.
Cotton Tri-Panel Renew counterparts will also be available, with the low-cut style in a pastel pink and blue colourway, while the high-cut option comes in a dusty orange, worn purple and sandy brown combo.
The Converse Tri-Panel Renew Series will be available May 15th at Dover Street Market Singapore Online and June 15th at Left Foot and all Converse boutiques. The rest of the Summer Renew collection will be available June 2nd at Converse boutiques at ION Orchard, Takashimaya S.C., VivoCity and Parco Bugis Junction. Previous editions of the Renew Series are currently available on Lazada.
