Mother knows best, but when it comes to planning a deserving treat for your dearest life-giver, we hope you do too. Now, you could cook for your mom in return for all that hard work she puts into feeding you, but if you lack the skills, sincerity can also come in the form of these food menu and delivery sets. A universally-loved hot pot treat for some precious time with the entire family, an indulgent high tea set with the cutest petite fours to nibble at, upscale Asian fare with a twist, or a luxurious fine-dining meal at home? You oughta know best.
THE UNIVERSALLY-LOVED: Beauty in The Pot
Collagen broth. Need we say more? Hot pots have always been a big part of Chinese dining culture, especially around Chinese New Year, but its surge in popularity in recent years has a lot to do with restaurant chains, Beauty in The Pot (BiTP) included, and their truly superior soup broths, which makes for a very wholesome treat for Mother’s Day.
Here, delivery sets start from $78 for about 3 – 4 people, which comes with a twin broth, sliced chicken thigh, sliced pork collar, handmade pork roll dumplings, silken tofu, fresh vegetables and noodles. You may also add specialty meat platters or seafood pastes on top of your order. Of course, what’s especially tempting are the broths — BiTP well-loved ones include the signature Beauty Collagen Broth, Spicy Nourishing Broth with a pork bone soup base, and the Vitamin C Tomato Sweet Corn Broth, which happen to be all my regular orders as well.

ELEGANT HIGH TEA: Tablescape
Somehow, high tea feasts always come to mind when you think about Mother’s Day, or pampering any female in your life actually, whether she’s a bride-to-be or a birthday girl in your all-girls group. We don’t make the rules here, but if you ask me, it’s probably due to one of these: tiny petits fours, a tower of pretty confectionery, and/or sparkling champagne. Cute and classy.
Tablescape’s luxurious tea party for two sounds about right — your mom will be met with an array of sweet treats and finger sandwiches, including a savoury choux bun, buttery sable Breton paired with foie gras, smoked duck and apple, along with freshly-baked sesame brioche and scones served with a trio of house-churned butter, housemade jam and clotted cream. The star of the show, a Caramelized Apple Shell Tart with Rosemary Meringue, will also be present, in all its Summery goodness. Choose from coffee or tea, and you’re set! Since you’re now at home, any effort to plate this meal as beautifully as it deserves will make for a delightful afternoon.

This looks like quite the feast for the eyes, but hey, good to know that the wood-fire grilled meats and hearty side dishes from Lumo are just as appealing to our appetites as well. On the menu are these modern-European dishes: bar snacks such as Shoestring Fries with Mentaiko Mayonnaise and Bonito Flakes, Homemade Beef Balls with Tomato Confit, Roasted Cauliflower, and a very delectable plate of New Zealand Angus Ribeye. The Burnt Cheese Cake, a recent food trend, seems especially enticing too. Spice up the occasion with some Breakfast-inspired cocktails — a Palm Tree Tonic, of coconut and coffee-driven G&T, or Stevie J, a classic Manhattan with a twist of baked apple notes — for a stunning brunch treat.

A GLORIOUS SEAFOOD FEAST: JUMBO Seafood
Can it get more Singaporean than chilli crab at JUMBO Seafood? Yes, sure the tourist are lapping it up more than “real” Singaporeans are, but when it comes to celebrating special occasions, at least in Chinese culture, nothing says “here’s a luxurious treat” than an all-seafood feast. For Mother’s Day, the revered establishment has curated Mother’s Day Set Menus you can enjoy at home, though these come a little steep, at above $200.
Still, you know you’re in for a good time: pick your choice crab style, from Chilli Crab, Signature Black Pepper Crab, or Steamed with Egg White and Chinese Wine. This then comes with Live Lobster, braised or steamed, as well as signature side dishes including Mocha Pork Ribs and the tze char-favourite Cereal Prawns.

We’ve obviously come to the more sophisticated options on the list, and if you’re intending to pamper your mom good, Buona Terra has got a 5-Course Mother’s Day Menu prepared for you. The Italian cuisine is inspired by the leading ladies in Chef Denis Lucchi’s life, so his seafood favourites begins with Cuttlefish Salad followed by a tantalising Char-grilled Scampi, of a whole
Mozambique scampi that’s charcoal-grilled and served with a citrus ‘Salmoriglio’ sauce.
For the pasta and main course, you’re looking at a family-lunch favourites of Casoncelli ‘Ravioli’ with Taleggio Cheese and Porcini Mushroom and a hearty Chicken Casserole with Herbs, Capers and Potato. The meal then ends off with a sweet finish, Ricotta Cheese and Pear Torta, a traditional cake with hazelnut sponge stuffed with luscious ricotta cheese and pear.

MICHELIN STAR-WORTHY: Odette At Home
Chef Julien and the Odette team are up to no good — and we say that because every part of the three Michelin-starred French restaurant’s dishes sound like a dream come true. Their menu consists mostly of sharing plates, from appetizers that include Loire Valley White Asparagus and Hokkaido Uni ‘Pain Perdu’, to main courses such as the Axuria Lamb for two with crushed potatoes and niçoise olives, and the Pithiviers ‘Grande Cuisine’, a puff pastry dish filled with stuffings of pigeon, foie gras, and poulet de Bresse.
For Mother’s Day, you can gift one of their curated Gift Baskets to surprise mom — choose from ‘Rise & Shine’, filled with breakfast treats including pastries, their signature blueberry jam and organic granola, or ‘Indulgence’, which includes a selection of small plates and desserts, complete with a bottle of champagne. We’ll leave you with these pretty-looking pictures to decide.
