Pride month has begun, and with it, comes the think pieces and reminders that the struggles faced by the LGBTQ+ community here and elsewhere are far from over. In the local context, for example, the law responsible for criminalising sexual encounters between consenting male adults — Section 377A, still stands despite repeated attempts for a repeal.
Which is why, now more than ever, it’s important for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies to remain visible, beyond just during the month of June, to fight the good fight for inclusivity and acceptance. One of the easiest ways to do that is to simply wear an item of clothing that features the LGBTQ+ important and dear symbol — the rainbow.
