CHANEL SUBLIMAGE La Lotion Lumière Exfoliante
$195 (125ml)

This lotion launched earlier in March this year, and I touted it as the one skincare item that you must buy today. I use this as the first step of my skincare regime at night, and pat it onto my face with my hands. It absorbs immediately and the surface of my skin feels and looks instantly refreshed. The key ingredient is Vanilla Planifolia that is a strong and natural antioxidant; and combined with L-arginine — also an antioxidant, and AHAs that gently exfoliate, my skin has only gotten smoother over the last two months.

At $195, it is a bit pricey, but I can see that this bottle is going to last me at least half a year (used once a day in the evening), and considering that CHANEL Sublimage can cost up to $750 for a serum — this is actually a decent price for the benefits of Vanilla Planifolia.

CHANEL Les Beige Healthy Glow Gel Touch Foundation SPF25/PA +++
$90

The first time I used this product was when it launched in 2017. You can read my first impressions and initial review here. My thoughts on this foundation still stand — it’s a great product and one of my favourite base makeup items to use. It has a lovely smooth texture that pats on beautifully, and creates an even, healthy-looking complexion. It also lasts through the entire day without making my face feel or look oily, which is very important to me in a foundation.

CHANEL Signature De Chanel Intense Longer Eyeliner Pen in 10 Noir
$53

I reviewed this in 2017 as well, and have been using it for the past three years. This is one of the best liquid eyeliners I’ve ever used and I always have this in my makeup kit.

It is an intense, rich black ink that glides very smoothly onto the lash line, and has a soft, yet firm tapered brush that can draw both thin and thick lines. It also lasts the entire day for me, which many liquid eyeliners don’t do.

I also reached out to the CHANEL team for their recommendations on skincare that would be relevant during this #stayhome period.

CHANEL Hydra Beauty Camelia Water Cream
$96 (30ml)

Pretty much everything from the Hydra Beauty line is good. The Camelia Water Cream, in particular, is perfect for achieving a healthy complexion with its extremely hydrating and moisturising properties.

Above: The product is a smooth white cream that feels very comfortable.

The active ingredients in the cream are Camellia (stimulates the skin’s metabolism to produce natural moisturising factors) and Blue Ginger (energy-boosting and a powerful antioxidant). And combined with hyaluronic acid, glycerin, squalane, and antioxidants Vitamin C and E, this cream does its purpose very well — moisturise and hydrate.

Above: The cream easily and quickly absorbs into the skin, giving off a “glow” that instantly brightens the complexion.

CHANEL SUBLIMAGE L’Huile-en-Gel de Démaquillage
$134 (150ml)

This face wash comes out as a gel, and when massaged into the skin, turns into a lightweight oil that dissolves makeup and dirt. And on contact with water, it then further transforms into a silky milk that washes away easily, leaving skin feeling smooth, soft and clean.

CHANEL SUBLIMAGE Les Grains de Vanille
$114 (50g)

Wearing a mask for long periods creates a hot and humid environment for the skin, which can lead to a build-up of sweat and oil — and this in turn causes clogged pores. A good scrub will remove excess oil and dead cells from the surface of the skin; and the ultimate indulgent scrub to use now would be this one from CHANEL’s luxurious SUBLIMAGE line.

Vanilla Planifolia seeds and Jojoba beads are encapsulated in a smooth gel texture that feels wonderfully soothing on the face. Only a small amount is needed each time, and immediately after use, the skin feels refreshed, clean and hydrated.
