Under Armour Is Releasing A Sportsmask Designed Specifically For Exercising

As the coronavirus pandemic in Singapore begins to ease, gyms and fitness studios are opening their doors again. And while we may be excused from wearing a sportsmask when engaging in strenuous exercises, some of us would still prefer donning on our face masks while running or hitting the gym as an extra safety precaution.

Under Armour has got you covered — literally. The brand has just unveiled a new face mask of its own, designed for exercise and performance. The first-of-its-kind, this reusable, water-resistant performance face mask is made especially for maximum breathability — allowing athletes to train without risking hypoxia.

By reducing the spread of respiratory droplets by the wearer, this innovative design keeps you and the others around you safe while training in public.

Moreover, the mask also features a moldable nose-bridge which secures it in place while allowing enhanced airflow — which also prevents glasses from fogging. Moisture and sweat formed by the wearer also remain difficult to pass through.

With a 3-layer model to its design, the UA Sportsmask consists of the following features to enhance the protection of athletes during performance:

  • LAYER 1: SPACER FABRIC – Light but has air pockets for structure — stays off the mouth and nose for better airflow.
  • LAYER 2: OPEN-CELL FOAM – The breathable middle layer lets air through but makes it hard for moisture and sweat to pass.
  • LAYER 3: UA ISO-CHILL – Feels cool against the skin, stretches, and is treated with PROTX2™, a non-metal anti-microbial technology which inhibits the growth of bacteria on the mask.

For a more comfortable and custom-like fit, the Under Armour Sportsmask will be available in four size offerings — SM/MD, MD/LG, LG/XL, XL/XXL — with additional colours of the mask to be released this summer and fall.

The Under Armour Sportsmask ($35) will be available in Singapore from July 24 onwards – online and only in three Under Armour stores (Funan, Orchard Central and Vivocity).
