If you’ve been looking for ways to financially contribute to Black Lives Matter (BLM), but you don’t have the means, try streaming to donate — it’s easy, straightforward, and you can do it from anywhere in the world.
On 30 May, Zoe Amira posted the following video and it has since gained a whopping 6.6 million views.
The hour-long video displays music performances, visual art, and other work by Black artists. The project was started with the intention of creating an alternate way for people to contribute to BLM if they are unable to protest or don’t have the financial stability to donate.
It states in the description that “100% of the advertisement revenue made from this video will be donated to the associations that offer protester bail funds, help pay for family funerals, and advocacy listed in the beginning of the video.” To contribute, all you have to do is play the video, making sure the ads are kept running. You can go further by repeating the video, sharing it on social media and raising awareness for this donation method.
Important: This only works if you have your ad-blocker off, and allow the ads to fully run. Take note that having videos on auto-repeat does not count as multiple views — once the video is over, watch at least 2 different videos before repeating it, in order for it to be recorded as an organic view.
