Burberry’s TB Summer Monogram Collection Launches with A Multiplayer Racing Game

Luxury fashion label Burberry has launched a vibrant TB Summer Monogram collection that’s all about optimism for the sunny season. Riccardo Tisci, Chief Creative Officer of Burberry, best known for his talents at elevating streetwear to luxury standards, reinvents the label’s iconic heritage monograms here to appear more graphic and pop art-like — an exercise that can be taken as a fresh and new injection to their offerings, while appealing to the evolving tastes of younger audiences.

Seen best on the centrepiece of the collection, the swimsuit, as worn on Kendall Jenner in a campaign created entirely with CGI technology, features the interlocking Thomas Burberry monogram in enlarged fashion. It also comes in a distinct azure blue with orange palette that’s reminiscent of an ideal view of the setting summer sky.

Left to right: Unisex Monogram Print Cotton Hoodie ($1,350), Medium Quilted Towelling Lola Bag ($2,850), Monogram Print Stretch Nylon Turtleneck Bodysuit ($780).

Clockwise from top right: Monogram Print Cotton Canvas Bucket Hat ($610), Monogram Print E-canvas Tote Bag ($1,750), Monogram Print E-canvas Sonny Bum Bag ($1,150), Monogram Print E-canvas Beach Tote ($1,580).

This collection also taps into the romanticised vision of poolside culture — a beloved activity in the summer — with the aforementioned swimsuit you are meant to swim in, as well as new interpretations of the Lola bag, made in an absorbent towel-like textile that can withstand splashes and remain damage-free when carried to the pool. Though that’s not to say that you shouldn’t still care for it, the way you would with luxury bags.

Left to right: Medium Quilted Towelling Lola Bag ($2,850), Monogram Print Bikini ($820), Unisex Short-sleeve Monogram Print Cotton Shirt ($990), Large Monogram Print E-canvas Barrel Bag ($2,190).

But what about those who aren’t into bright colours? Don’t worry, there are alternative pieces in Burberry’s signature taupe and brown for those who prefer to stick to the classics.

An unexpected accompaniment with this collection is a brand new multiplayer racing game dubbed B Surf, available to play now on Burberry’s official website.

Simply choose from an adorable selection of furry characters and race with friends from across the world to the finish line, and you might win a limited-edition TB surfboard or one of the TB Summer Monogram bucket hats!

It’s fashion with a whole lot of fun (in reality and virtually), so what’s not to love?
