Keanu Reeves’ New BRZRKR Comic Book Series Promises Action and Graphic Violence

If there’s one celebrity that’s synonymous with all things unquestionably cool, then it’s got to be Keanu Reeves. Not only is he the bonafide action star of some of the most iconic film franchises, The Matrix, John Wick, for instance, he’s also a video game protagonist, passionate motorcycle enthusiast, and an all-around good guy. Keanu is now the co-creator of a new comic series titled BRZRKR (pronounced: Berserker) as well!

Created with co-writer Matt Kindt and illustrator Alessandro Vitti, BRZRKR is set to launch with 12-issues under Boom! Studios this coming October. The comic series is for mature audiences only and promises tons of graphic violence not foreign to fans of Keanu’s work.

Boom! Studios details the plot of BRZRKR with the following statement, “The man known only as Berzerker is half-mortal and half-God, cursed and compelled to violence… even at the sacrifice of his sanity. But after wandering the world for centuries, Berzerker may have finally found a refuge — working for the U.S. government to fight the battles too violent and too dangerous for anyone else. In exchange, Berzerker will be granted the one thing he desires — the truth about his endless blood-soaked existence… and how to end it.”

Prior to the comics’ official release, there are already rumours that streaming giant Netflix is in talks for a live-action adaptation of BRZRKR, with Keanu Reeves himself playing the titular character. Which makes complete sense, since the Berserker appears to be modelled in Keanu’s likeness anyway. So, do keep your eyes peeled and your streaming subscription paid for more updates in the coming months!
