Onitsuka Tiger’s AW20 Collection Reveals Attention-Grabbing Looks with High-Functioning Qualities

Onitsuka Tiger has launched its latest Autumn-Winter 2020 (AW20) collection starring Willow Smith across its ad campaign, debuting her role as Global Brand Ambassador for the Japanese fashion brand. Notably, these latest ready-to-wear pieces and footwear highlight Onitsuka Tiger’s capability to seamlessly marry not just fashion with functional sportswear, but also the brand’s heritage with its new textile innovations.

Take, for instance, the standout military-style Women’s WS Jacket that’s made in nylon with other technical fabrics meant to emphasise its functional weatherproof qualities. Two pleated cargo-sized chest pockets, an adjustable drawstring at the waist, and oversized elbow patches add to its overall utilitarian sensibilities.

The WS Jacket also comes colour-blocked in shades of moss and khaki that corresponds perfectly with its aesthetic theme. Another feature worth noting is the jacket’s removable fleece inner lining — made to keep its wearer cosy in harsh winds — that’s designed to offer versatility to be worn all year round.

Additionally, some of Onitsuka Tiger’s most timeless AW20 pieces feature in gorgeous pop neon colours. These, in our opinion, are sure to captivate not only with its attention-grabbing hues but also for elevating a sporty look with an elegant twist.



The pièce de résistance for many ardent fans of Onitsuka Tiger is likely its footwear, and for AW20, the brand is launching three new noteworthy designs — namely the DENTIGRE BOOT, the BIG LOGO TRAINER 2.0, and the D-TRAINER BORO that are sure to make a stomping statement.


The unisex DENTIGRE BOOT comes rendered in an edgy all-leather combat boot upper with a dramatic outsole enveloping its base on all sides. Besides providing superior cushioning and comfort when worn all-day, the outsole will most certainly add visual impact to any look.

Finally, the BIG TRAINER 2.0 is a contemporary revision of a popular vintage silhouette by Onitsuka Tiger, and it features a platform sole that enhances one’s performance when worn for running. The unmissable aesthetic detail here, however, is the brand’s signature CLAW Stripes motif, that’s dramatically enlarged to encompass the shoe from its laces and heel tab to its outsole. A higher-cut version coined the BIG TRAINER 2.0 MT is available as well.


A selection of key products from this AW20 lineup also showcases the work of artist Brian Kenny, that focuses on vibrant patchwork.
