Starbucks x kāi Is Back With A Second Collaboration Of Summer-Inspired Lifestyle Accessories

Scoff all you want, but us 90s kids love our cheesy 90s to 00s-era music, boybands, Britney, empowering girl groups, and all. It’s also been a while since the name ‘Natasha Bedingfield’ popped up, but we bet the cheery lyrics of her 2007 song Pocketful of Sunshine will stick in your heads once you read the song title. There, don’t need to thank us.

That said, it’s in that same spirit of cheeriness and joy that homegrown lifestyle label, kāi, approaches its second partnership with Starbucks — this time, with a new Summer ‘Pocketful of Sunshine’ collection that features three lifestyle accessories we can’t wait to tout around.

Designed by kāi, a brand founded by social media influencer Christabel Chua, the  collection sees soft pastels, along with cute emblems such as cacti, flamingo floats and summery fruits on everyday accessories, all aimed to spark joy in the new normal — bring this along on your next grocery run or mini outing with friends to be reminded of appreciating the simple joys in life.

First up, the Tropical Trio Envelope Card Case ($18.90), which is a new product designed as a multi-functional case that holds cards, money, and even essentials such as lip balm or hair clips. Constructed with sturdy PU leather and a button closure, the compact design is small enough to fit in most handbags, and yes, including our increasingly tiny ones.

With the lanyard being such a hit from last year’s collaboration, kāi is bringing back the same product in a refreshed Summer style. The Pool Fun Lanyard Cardholder ($18.90) sees a bikini, float, and other pool motifs on the back of a cardholder that features a transparent window, three card slots, and a detachable neck strap. We might not be tapping into office quite as frequently now, but this will still work as a hands-free alternative while on public transport or while running errands.

Finally, we have the Summer Picnic Cardholder ($18.90) that should remind you of sun-filled days spent in nature. The product happens to be Christabel’s most-used item from last year’s collection, so this year’s design is updated with some of her favourite things, while still keeping to its functional aspects including two gradated card slots in a portable size.
