Timberland’s Latest Sustainable Collection Features a Brand New Madbury Sneaker Boot

The vanguard of tasteful and functional outdoor wear, Timberland, has always been an advocate for environmental conservation and green practices. And in continuation of their longstanding Nature Needs Heroes sustainability campaign, the global lifestyle brand is launching a never-seen-before footwear coined the “Madbury,” that’s made to stomp the green message all around.

The Madbury takes the form of a sneaker boot style, with a mid-top ankle rise that prominently features Timberland’s signature tree emblem on its heel tab. A low-rise rendition of the footwear similarly features the tree emblem on the side.

Other defining visual cues of this footwear can be found on its upper, where a cutting-edge geometric design overlay made in Better Leather emphasises the Madbury’s seamless wearability when worn about town or on a hiking trail. Additionally, you’ll be glad to know that Better Leather is a textile sourced from a tannery that only works with leather produced with responsible energy use, waste management, and environmentally-conscious water treatments.

Timberland’s very own sustainable fabric — ReBOTL — made from recycled plastic bottles, is also extensively used on the Madbury’s upper and linings. This significantly reinforces the brand’s green commitments in production, while also inversely enhances the footwear’s breathability and moisture-wicking capabilities.

The footwear’s composition is finished off with a lightweight foam midsole and a sturdily patterned outsole that provides all-terrain traction and lends an overall aesthetically-pleasing streamlined look.

In a press statement, Vice President of Timberland Local Footwear Design, Chris McGrath says, “We have taken craft to the next level with the Madbury. It’s dynamic and a true expression of fashion meets function with modern styling aesthetics that resonate with the youthful culture.”

This season, in addition to the launch of the Madbury sneaker boot, fans of Timberland can look forward to an all-new outdoor-inspired capsule collection for men and women, featuring the brand’s archival workwear designs reworked in a bright colour palette imbued with today’s utilitarian streetwear sensibilities.

This collection encompasses sensible hoodies, tees, cargo shorts, and joggers. The must-have piece from this lineup is the SMU Workwear Coach Jacket in Timberland’s propriety orange hue. Wear this to the wilderness, the urban jungle, or anywhere really, to be the glowing beacon for eco-conscious style.
