G-SHOCK’s New Intergalactic Dreams Series Includes A Rainbow Coloured Metal Timepiece

Casio is known for their shock-resistant G-SHOCK watches, and the brand is releasing Intergalactic Dreams, a futuristic series of new GM-110 watches inspired by their best-selling GA-110 series of digital-analog combination watches. These 4 models all feature a metal bezel, in sci-fi designs.

Since their release in 2010, the GA-110 series has set the all-time record for most units shipped of any G-SHOCK watch, and the new GM-110 has taken inspiration from the record-breaking model’s design, featuring the same GA-110 shape in new metal hardware.

Each piece bears a forged metal bezel that has been carefully cut and polished after a repeated forging process, which gives the model a tough, rugged exterior. Available in 4 colourways, the gold (GM-110G) and silver (GM-110) options showcase the metal’s original textures, while the monochromatic black (GM-110B) model is accented with a multi-colour dial, featuring a super cool oil-slick effect of purple, blue and green.

The star of the collection is the GM-110RB, a rainbow-coloured model that not only features a vivid bezel treated with rainbow ion-plating, but also consists of bright red, blue, purple and green hues on the band and the face of the watch. Each model is brought together by a complementary resin band, formed with a lattice design that resonates the texture you would find on a machined metal plate.

The Intergalactic Dreams Campaign video was created in collaboration with local contemporary artist, JAHAN LOH.

Each watch also includes the Super Illuminator feature, powered by a high-brightness LED which illuminates the dial and ensures ultimate visibility in the dark. The hour and minute hands are also treated with luminescent paint, with contrasting indices that stand out.

GM-100G, GM-100, GM-100B, GM-100RB

Like other G-SHOCK watches, the GM-100 series features up to 200m water resistance, 31 time zones, a stopwatch, countdown timer and 5 daily alarms across each timepiece. Weighing only 93g, each watch also comes with a battery life of approximately 3 years, so you’ll always be able to keep your eye on the clock.

The Intergalactic Dreams series consists of the GM-100 ($279), GM-100B ($319) and GM-100G ($319), and will be available at all G-SHOCK stores from 11 September 2020. The GM-110RB will be available in late September, price TBA. For more information, visit g-shock.sg.
