Huawei Introduces Their Latest Flagship Huawei Mate 40 Series

It’s the month of brand new smartphone launches as Huawei unveils the Huawei Mate 40 Series, their latest revolutionary flagship series of advanced smartphones.

Over the last eight years, Huawei has produced over 10 generations of Mate Series devices and the all-new Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro+ aims to take the user experience to new heights with the world’s first 5 nanometer 5G SoC, an Ultra Vision Cine Camera System and a smarter, more attentive digital experience.

Combining iconic design with innovative technology, all models of the Huawei Mate 40 Series comes with the Huawei 88° Horizon Display which creates an immersive viewing experience in a compact package. The design of the phone features a Space Ring Design on the rear, which is an upgrade to Huawei’s iconic circular and symmetrical design, and also incorporates a curved edge on the sides to make devices more comfortable to hold.

The Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro is also IP68 dust and water-resistant and offers up a choice of virtual and physical volume controls alongside an enhanced mistouch prevention algorithm to prevent accidental touches on the screen.

SETTING A NEW STANDARD FOR PERFORMANCE

Huawei’s Mate 40 Series is powered by the Kirin 9000 Series, the most sophisticated 5nm 5G SoC processing chip available that delivers vastly improved performance and power efficiency over its predecessor. This makes the devices fully equipped for 5G and highly capable of handling intensive use with greater responsiveness that will help you manage multi-tasking operations with ease.

Both the Huawei Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro+ are also built with the most powerful graphics ever seen on a Huawei device. This means that you can expect advanced graphics performance to complement the dual stereo speakers for an immersive gaming experience. The Huawei Mate 40 Series is also equipped with better battery technology that supports the fastest iteration of Huawei SuperCharge and keep up with the future demands of 5G.

All Huawei Mate 40 devices are equipped with the EMUI 11 operating system which features comprehensive security solutions to protect the privacy and security of Huawei device users. This even extends to the transferring of images where you can easily purge sensitive personal data such as location, time and device details from an image file before it is sent.

ALL-ROUND IMAGING SYSTEM

Co-engineered with Leica, the Huawei Mate 40 Series aims to provide the best camera solution possible with impressive upgrades to the entire system. With the Dual Cine Cameras and Dual Ultra-Wide Cameras on the Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro+, you can now capture amazing wide-angle videos and images from both the front and rear of the phone.

Cinematic videography ventures to new heights with the Dual Cine Cameras which allows an easier capturing of high-quality footage with Steady Shot, while the XD Fusion HDR Video ensures balanced exposure even when you are capturing footage with extreme lighting contrast.

The Ultra-Wide Cine Camera gets an upgrade in the Mate 40 Series to give you an even wider field of view with richer detail, improved low light performance and distortion correction algorithms for you to capture expansive landscapes. Image quality has also been further enhanced with the Full Pixel Octa PD AutoFocus to improve distortion correction that targets the face, body and limbs, making the ultra-wide angle lens more useful in various scenarios and for the Super Sensing Wide Camera to produce true high definition shots.

Though both Pro models may have the same basic rear camera set-up, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro features a Periscope Telephoto Camera that supports 10x hybrid zoom and 50x digital zoom while the Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ features a dual-telephoto camera system that enables 20x hybrid zoom and 100x digital zoom.

The front Ultra Vision Selfie Camera of the Huawei Mate 40 Series offers support for 4K capture as well as Slow-Motion Selfie which adds more versatility to the capabilities of a front camera, giving you the ability to add more effects to your selfies.

BETTER OVERALL USER EXPERIENCE

The Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro+ have been engineered to change the way smartphones integrate into your daily life with new user-centric features that include the Smart Gesture Control, which allows total hands-free control of your device. This works with your hand hovering over your device to wake it up or swiping left, right, up and down to navigate your phone. You can even use the air press gesture for answering calls.

Another smart feature on both Pro models is the Eyes on Display which activates at a glance with fully customisable interactive displays that hosts all the information you need from your phone as well as reduce the ring of incoming calls when you make eye contact with your phone!

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

The Huawei Mate 40 Pro will be available in Black and Mystic Silver. Keep an eye out for the update here when pricing and availability for Singapore are revealed at a later date.
