RIMOWA Expands Its Lineup Of ‘Personal’ Cases With 4 New Colours

Our travel plans may be on hold, but our wanderlust certainly isn’t, as we’ve lamented at least a few times a week on #throwback posts. Besides, RIMOWA has given us a fun way to embrace the functional form of their famous suitcases — enter, the RIMOWA Personal, now in four fresh colourways.

The silhouette was first introduced as part of a limited edition collaboration with Kim Jones, unveiled on the Dior Men Summer 2020 runway. Those distinct, etched lines that make up the signature exterior of a RIMOWA suitcase are now replicated on a mini-sized carry case that we can bring about on our daily travels, in glossy iterations of “Black”, “White”, “Desert Rose” and “Cactus”.

These Personal Cases are done in lightweight polycarbonate, to mark the 20th anniversary of RIMOWA‘s launch of the first-ever polycarbonate suitcase in 2000 — it now also marks the brand’s evolution to include lifestyle accessories in its travel-intensive lineup, phone cases and eyewear included.

Consider the matchy detachable straps that enable you to sling the hardshell bag across your body, either done tone-on-tone on Black / White, or in a fresh contrasting colour on the other models — the interior leather lining of the cases are aligned with those colour choices too.

On top of that, you’ll notice metal rivets, rings and hooks finished in silver or gunmetal, while each interior features two open compartments, a zipped pocket and three card slots. The fresh “Desert Rose” and “Cactus” shades are also in line with the latest RIMOWA Essential collections inspired by the Mojave Desert. Clutch or crossbody, you know you’ll be wanting to own a piece of this soon-to-be-cult item when it launches in December.

The RIMOWA Personal ($1,750) will be available from 3 December, 2020 in RIMOWA stores worldwide. rimowa.com
