The All-New Bugaboo Bee6 — The Most Advanced City Stroller That’s Perfect For Everyday Use

The first Bugaboo Bee came out in 2007 and was an immediate hit among parents everywhere because it was compact, considerably light, and easy to use. This year, Bugaboo launches the Bee6 — their most advanced city stroller, and it’s marvellous. Every part of the Bee6 has been redesigned to optimise functionality, practicality, and safety — and it retains the Bee’s eye-catching style. Here it is with its signature yellow canopy:

One of the key improvements from the previous Bee is a bigger wheel design.

Above: The Wheels are larger at 7-inch and are made from smoother pu tires.

The tires are now 7-inch and puncture-proof, and from the very-first push of the stroller, the update is obvious; it definitely feels smoother, sturdier and more stable, and is easier to push and steer.

Mounting curbs are a breeze, as is driving the stroller on grass and pebbled surfaces.

The larger wheels also provide better suspension and shock absorption so it’s a more comfortable ride for the little passenger.

Adding to the comfort levels, the seat fabric has also been improved, and is what Bugaboo calls “high performance”. It is “spongey” and soft, and is easy to wipe clean or wash. The hardware behind the seat has ventilation holes that keep the seat cool as well.

The sun canopy has been updated with a peekaboo window and breezy panel. It’s now easier than ever to keep tabs on your kid while the seat is in the front facing position.

A new rotating bumper bar has also been added to the Bee (finally!), taking cues from the Bugaboo Cameleon, that the bar comes standard with. This bar keeps the child better protected in the seat and offers something for little grabby hands to hold on to.

Improvements are made to the handlebar grips with new integrated bends for better grip protection.

Staying true to its city styling, the Bee6 is compact and light, and folds open with one hand and a push of the foot. There’s now an included integrated self-stand (these were previously sold separately), so when the stroller is folded into one piece, it can stand on its own (no more laying it down on the dirty ground).

Here’s how it works:

Bugaboo BEE6 is available at Motherswork, priced at $1,249 for the complete set, $960 for the Aluminium base, $1,060 for the Black base, $160 for the Sun Canopy, and $129 for the Seat Fabric in black. I recommend adding on a Cup Holder, $40, which is extremely useful.
