AirPods Max Is Apple’s New Over-Ear Headphones

Apple has just announced their new (and first-ever) headphones — the AirPods Max, priced at $849. It’s a wireless over-ear design that features high-end functionality including high-fidelity audio, Adaptive EQ, Active Noise Cancellation and spatial audio. And it comes in 5 colours: Space Grey, Silver, Green, Sky Blue and Pink.

These headphones were designed to fit comfortable and completely over the ears, to provide an immersive and exceptional sound for the user — basically, they should sound pretty damn good.

There’s a Digital Crown that’s inspired by Apple Watch, and it allows the user to control volume and standard headphone functions such as play, pause, skip, answer or end calls, and something new — to activate Siri (but of course).

A 40mm Apple-designed dynamic driver is said to provide rich, deep bass, accurate mid-ranges, and crisp, clean high-frequencies — again, basically good sound. It sounds like music should sound amazing through these speakers, and until the public gets their hands on them, this is all we know.

We can expect connectivity to iPhones to be seamless, and for non-iPhone users, it’s likely that you’ll be able to connect to your device using bluetooth. There’s also a new feature called “automatic switching”, which allows users to move sound between iPhone, iPad and Mac devices, adding another benefit to the complete Apple eco-system (love!).

The only thing we don’t quite love from the images — the smart case that looks like you can pack your bras in too.

AirPods Max are available to order soon, priced at $849 from APPLE.COM/SG and in the Apple Store® app.
