CHANEL Sublimage L’Essence De Teint is the newest liquid foundation from CHANEL and under their luxury SUBLIMAGE line of skincare and makeup. It’s a foundation that has a serum formula; its active ingredient is SUBLIMAGE’s signature Vanilla Planifolia water that has powerful antioxidant properties to protect and maintain good skin. There’s also Vanilla enfleurage oil, which soothes the skin making it feel soft and comfortable, and this is the first time this ingredient is added to a CHANEL makeup formula. All this skincare is combined with light-reflecting particles and pigments that aim to instantly brighten the skin.
I’ve been using this foundation for exactly three weeks now, and find that the texture of it is extremely light; it’s fluid but not drippy or watery. It feels fresh on the skin and blends in easily, while the finish is sheer and really feels like you’re wearing nothing on the skin. I love that it looks so natural, but at the same time actually does even out the complexion, covering pigmentation and filling in fine lines. It’s also not “glowy” like many foundations that have light-reflecting pigments tend to be; it’s just the right amount of radiance hitting all the high points of the face, like the nose bridge and cheekbones.
This foundation comes at the perfect time when the trend is shifting away from heavy, thick makeup formulations, and towards more natural-looking makeup that also acts like skincare. This makes the skin look natural and fresh, while improving and maintaining its quality. There’s an included face brush in the box, stamped with the CHANEL logo at its base.
