Get Beautiful And Practical CNY Nails With These Local Nail Wrap Brands

Believe us, there are clearly two kinds of people in this world when it comes to doing your nails: those who skip the gel manicures because going to the salon is just too much of a hassle, and those who obsessively match their nails with every OOTD. But what happens when you want to be both? Nail wraps.

A fuss-free invention that essentially consists of fancy stickers you place directly onto your nails, before filing away the excess, nail wraps ensure you can get your nails looking polished and professional, all under 10 minutes. With social distancing measures still in place, just as plenty of us might be rushing to get our nails done before the Chinese New Year festivities, it seems like they could be the most practical solution for pretty nails as well. Here are three homegrown brands who’ve recently debuted their CNY nail wrap collection.

Ideal for time-starved individuals or those looking for a little TLC, Nodspark‘s fuss-free nail wraps feature everything from classy to cute and quirky patterns, plenty of which feature negative space designs that accentuate the beauty of the bare nail underneath. You’ll see what we mean here. Happy lemons make an appearance in their latest CNY collection, as does a graphic Spring Festival design, or Nude Coral if you like it really subtle. Then, a collaboration with fellow local stationery brand Papercranes sees cute florals and a nature-inspired print in hues of Spring; while we noticed they’ve also updated their Pedicure page with a citrus party for your feet.

$15 each, available at nodspark.com.

Emery & Co.

With some of the most comprehensive campaign images we’ve seen, local label Emery & Co. has launched their nine-piece CNY collection, all of which feature contemporary designs that reimagine cultural motifs from our yearly Spring celebrations. Again, you can get outfit-matching nails in under 10 minutes! These designs range from the bright reds of ‘Dancing with the Lions’, which reference those jovial lion dances in graphic prints, to florals, jade, and hints of gold. There’s even a ‘Kisses of Kebaya’ design that looks just like nostalgic Peranakan tiles, for families who like to don their kebaya while visiting.

$14.90 each, available online at emeryco.com, KrisShop, Sift & Pick, and at Design Orchard.

Nail Wrap Co.

Gingham, plain, ornate, animal print, glitter with frosted tips — whatever you want, there’s bound to be something you’d fancy at Nail Wrap Co.’s site, which they say features over 300 styles. We’re still counting. For CNY, some of the newer designs that just went up on their site might just be exactly what your outfit needs. ‘Caribbean Jewels’ sees specks of gold on a calming blue base, ‘Floral Blush’ and ‘Rosie’ would be perfect for a girly pink number, while the ‘Moo Moo Cow’ is a fun one that’d be a great conversation opener at any upcoming events — or distraction if you’re keen on avoiding the pesky relatives.

$12.90 each, available at nailwrap.co.
